Trivia Questions

Post by Bubba Grizz »

University of Stevens Point - Wisconsin (UWSP) has a trivia contest every year that lasts for 54 hours. Sometimes the let some questions out early for people to work on. Below is a link to some pictures. Any idea who they are or what they are? Any help would be appreciated.

I live in this town and I can say from experience that this is one of the craziest, if not craziest, time of the year. It is considered the largest trivia contest in the world. It has had at least one documentary made about it. The Jeopardy guy that won so many shows came to town last year or teh year before to get material for his book.

Bubba Grizz and I were part of many teams in college. It was funner back then because you didn't have the internet to research everything. The last couple years questions have been god awful hard. On my street alone there are at least 3 teams. I will usually just drop in to different teams, eat their food and drink and then leave. It pretty much is a 54 hour straight party. If you walk in somewhere, you will usually be accepted as a member of the family. Those picture questions are amongst the hardest of the lot. The fact that we answered (or think we did) 5 or 6 of them on this board is pretty amazing. A couple years ago, the team I hung out with was only able to figure out 2 or 3 and they were a top team.

This year it will allow people to join the contest from anywhere via the internet. The whole contest will be webcast. I can't think of what the web address is but if anyone is interested then I can get it.

It's Marlon until I hear otherwise!

Will we get the correct answers to these later?

and in my opinion the picture 14 looks more like Brando than the old king one :)

Consensus is Hamlet died at 30 in the play. While there is some debate and a bit of wiggle room...I'm gonna venture a no...:)

8 is definitely King Bruno from Jabberwocky. Here are other pictures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jabberwocky_(film)

14 Kinda looks like Bob Hope

The hat isn't a junior woodchuck. The junior Woodchuck hat has a WJW logo on it. There was a "woodchuck militia" (also Disney) that wore coonskin caps as well but I couldn't find any pictures that had a W on them.

9 is something from willy wonka. With the all the stretchy stuff it might be related to laffy taffy.

I am certain I saw 17 on a Public TV documentary on cars within the last year. It might have been a cover for a song title from the twenties or soemthing.

One of the black guys kinda looks like a young lionel richie.

19 looks like a golden graham to me.
