hell yeah they carry guns.

anyway, i do still work for a unit of Turner (just not @ CNN), and my wife does work at CNN Center as well. In fact i was at the building a couple hours before the incident.

The building connects via this big mall like food court to an Omni Hotel, Philips Arena (where the Hawks & Thrashers play) and walking distance from the Georgia Dome, and so forth.

so it is a public space in that regard.
