I had hoped to finish with season 5 on DVD, but they still show up with a wait time in my netflix queue. I guess I will have to set it up to be recorded until I finish them.

Good start to the season. This show rarely if ever disappoints, so those who haven't seen it yet, may want to catch up.

doh, I ended up going straight from work to my niece's softball game last night, and it ended too late for me to make it home to record the season premiere. Does anyone happen to know the name of the episode? I saw that FX has one scheduled for Sunday night, and I am wondering if it will be an encore of the premiere.

I am probably one of the biggest Shield fans you will meet however I was disappointed in last night's premiere. I know no one really like Forrest Whitaker's character but there really was no reason to just turn him into what he is now. It was too over the top and quite out of character for the rest of the writing of the series.

I am a huge fan of Jon Kavanaugh, and while he did go over the top a bit, he was still great I thought.

For those who have watched The Wire, how would you compare the two? I usually hear good things about The Shield, but I've never seen it. I love the Wire though.

It's a lot more fictional than the Wire, but almost as good. Sometimes the storyline borders on hysterical but overall this show is pretty badass. It's hard to tell most the time that you are watching it on cable and not HBO, which is a huge plus. They go probably as far on that show as possible. I highly reccomend it.

The team is just imploding right now. Shane can't handle what he did and is looking for any punishment he can find. Vic is over the edge in that he can't save anyone, couldn't save Lem, couldn't save the gang members. And as usual, Ronnie just seems to slide through without any problem. I am beginning to think Ronnie is the mastermind of the whole team and knows how to avoid all the complications the others so easily fall into.

I love that before this season, the most you would get out of Ronnie was a, "yeah, Vic" or "ok, Vic".

That series i enjoy, with the bald Big Ben, not sure which one it is though!

The Shield. That is Michael Chiklis...he's very intense...perhaps it is short man's syndrome.

I never miss The Shield - but I have been on call all week so I have it TiVo'd. I will finally get to see the finale tonight.

So the series finale is in a week and holy fuck has this season been amazing. Watching the confessional was just great stuff. The captains reaction was priceless.

I will probably be watching last night's episode this evening after a raid. The preview at the end of last week's episode made me want to watch it last night, but I had other things to take care of. This has been leading up to a fun finish!
