Laptop shoppin'

Post by Draaxx »

Hey yall... I am just now getting around to buying a laptop and i was wondering if there were any better places to get a good (kinda aimed towards gaming) laptop other than Best Buy, Fry's, etc. I was checkin out e-bay and newegg for starters. And i guess my other question besides where was what? Just curious if anyone has experience with certain laptops and know they perform well or poorly. I dont plan to play brand new games that suck up resources but i'd like to play HL2 and such so im lookin for one with pretty good gaming specs. Anyways, if anyone can point me in the right direction that'd be effin sweet. Thanks!

Some of you may remember Grimdari, he just picked up a Dell Inspiron with a Core2 Duo, 17" widescreen and a 7900 GS for about $1600, it's wicked fast and the only difference between it and the XPS is 7900GT/GTX and about $700.

As I noted in another thread, check the outlet store as well, they still come with a year warranty and are usually a lot cheaper. IF something is going to break on a PC or Laptop, due to defect it will almost always happen within a year.

If you don't like Dell for some reason, check out the threat Cank did a few months ago. He got a smokin' Asus Laptop on NewEgg for about the same price I think and was loving it. I think it was about the same price Grimdari got his for though, the thing with Dell is that you have to make sure you find some coupons to put on top of the "discount" to really get a good price.
