G.R.A.W 2

Post by Funkmasterr »

I am going DIRECTLY from work to pick this up tomorrow and plan on spending a fair deal of time playing it this weekend. They are doing an all weekend contest on XBL, they will be giving out prizes every hour all weekend (usual crappy tshirts for most people, but wireless headsets and 200 dollar gift cards for the leaders.)

I will definately be looking for people to play with this weekend, because a lot of the guys I play Gears with won't be picking this up right away. Anyone interested send me a message if I am online!

I've had the demo installed for a while now, but I keep forgetting to check it out. I think I downloaded it right before my 360 got zapped around a month ago.

I played the singlep layer demo and thought it was more of the sameold and way too similar to GRAW 1 to pay full price again.

This series is getting EASports-itis after only the second installment.

All the video I've seen of it so far looks like they took GRAW1 and just added maps. It looks like it's worth $20, not $50.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Interesting, to me it seems like not only have the graphics increased, but they have made major changes in the gameplay - made the AI for your teammates a lot more useful, etc.

I guess I will be able to make a better call tomorrow, I'll let ya know what I think.

You know what the biggest annoyance to me was playing the Single player demo?

The lack of a R6:Vegas cover system and the return of the GRAW 1 cover mechanics.

That one was a huge turnoff.

I thought that the R6 Vegas cover system was terrible (then again keep in mind my standard for cover systems is GoW). From what I have heard the next R6 will be using a GoW-like cover system, and I hope many other games copy it too because it owns.

The cover system to me will be a downside, but if the rest of the game is as good as it looks so far, it won't outweigh the upsides.

I say this not to be contrary, but I quite enjoyed the cover system in R6:V. If the GoW cover system was truly better, I wish I'd had the opportunity to try it.

Agreed. You should try it if you get a chance Noel, I really don't see how you could improve on the cover system in Gears. The only complaint I have about it is in a few of the maps where there are lots of little gravestones and shit to hide behind you might end up taking cover when you are trying to roll.

I played through the first act last night and I have to say I am having a lot more fun with this one than with the first.

Tactic is definately a part of this game much more than in Rainbow Six. If you just try and run out guns blazing you will drop in a matter of seconds, even if only against one or two enemies.

I think the UAV has huge improvements, being able to zoom down on the landscape below you. The Mule is really cool, nice being able to go to it and get ammo/health in the middle of a mission (especially one when you are solo and can't count on a medic.)

One thing I really didn't like about the first GRAW was the helicopter battle, which was a totally different story in this one - the helicopter fight in the first act was really fun.

I like the vision goggles in this one better than in the first, and a lot of the effects are better (like smoke moving for example when something moves through it.)

Overall I had a blast playing this last night and im looking forward to getting a clan going with the people I play GoW with and kicking some ass online.

I just finished the single player campaign last night and I loved every minute of it. I like that there is lot of strategy involved, but not to the obnoxious degree that you have to sit in one spot for 45 minutes.

I have also played multiple different aspects of the online a bit and I really have to say I think that this game is an all around big improvement from the first GRAW.

My only one complaint is still that you can't take cover playing online, I just don't see any valid reason for it to be that way.
