The Stock Market

I'm wondering how many people here actively trade in the stock market or even invest with a financial firm like Merril Lynch and such. I also want to know what companies you have invested in.

I recently started getting into the stock market. Although I'm very new and relatively poor, I've committed to investing a significant amount of my income. 40% to be exact.

I use http://www.finance.google.com for my research.

Currently I have 2 positions:

CHL and GOOG

I made a mistake with CHL (China Mobile Ltd) and got in when it was at 49.15. I was excited about getting money in there and bought it too hastily. Nonetheless, I like the company and expect at least 40% growth this year.

I was more careful this month when I bought GOOG (Google) and waited til it fell a bit. I got it at 470.14 but unfortunately it has continued to fall. Of course I'm not going to be a day to day trader so it doesn't bother me too much. My investments are going to be geared for 1-2 years then re-evaluate.

For the upcoming month I have narrowed my choices down to NTDOY (Nintendo), DIS (Disney) and ADBE (Adobe). I'm leaning towards nintendo and getting the other two in the following months. My plan is to have 10 by the end of the year.
