No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

What's it look like where you live? (Image heavy)

Here's an idea, post some pics to give people an idea what it actually looks like in the country/region you live in....I'm not talking specific streets or anything but general landscape/towns etc.

I'll start some things off with a random google of images from the area where I live, as most of you know, just outside Belfast, in Northern Ireland.

We have towns/cities and then lots of hills, and a nice coastline and all the rest. Without further ado, Antrim (the county I live in) in all it's wartorn/picturesque glory.

The view from slightly further across the city hall lawn back towards the city hall. Imperialism at it's finest :?

Carrickfergus Castle, about 3/400 metres from my house (about 10 miles outside Belfast).

No picture of Northern Ireland would be complete without obligatory mural protestant/catholic bullshit "troubles" pictures.

But first, some malicious Mural artist has taken it upon himself to make a rather cutting political point.

Some protestant Unionist crap.

Some republican/catholic crap.

I have to take the coach to Tool from that Hotel on the left, assuming I don't get shot first (not really, but still - the "sandy row" area is a shit place full of absolute morons).

Obviously someone thought the same as me and paintbombed one of the murals. zing!

There are a million murals in and around Belfasts crappy working class housing estates, but they take up a very small amount of space overall in the country which looks substantially more like the earlier pictures in the post.

I don't know if you found these interesting, just thought it may be a cool idea.

The potato famine mural made me go and look it up, and with the usual cautions applied, I found the Wikipedia entry interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Potato_Famine

From what I could see it was "the rich" that screwed the people at the time, rather than "the british". Which would seem to be par for the course...

On topic: Interesting photoset Nick, thanks for sharing.

Well the British weren't to blame for causing the famine, since it was caused by extensive farming of potatoes leading to a singular food source/yield, which if diseased, would fuck over millions of people.

It was the reasons why people were forced to produce such ridiculous amounts of potatoes that is where British responsibility lies. Trade tariffs/big house"establishment" oppression (most "the rich" were either british lords or fatcat Anglo Protestant Church of Ireland men) - with high ground rents and general shittiness, combined with monopolistic trade setups forced most working class cottagers to rely on the potato, which then failed and caused a massive deathrate.

The english didn't cause the famine, but they caused the reasons why the famine ended up with such high death rates.

And share some pics of Australia mate :D
