Any word on CoD3?

Post by Canelek »

With Gears of War available, I can see this one getting much less press. It looks like they have added more depth as far as character versatility, but does anyone have a firsthand opinion?

Will be a bit before I buy that, as I am pretty engaged in 'Gears for the time being...

I decided to download this one. I've burned it but haven't tried it yet. Got a boss fight in a sec in FFXII! WW2 games aren't my thing either but want to check out the upgraded visuals. If I get more than five minutes of excitement out of it, I'll go buy it. I'll edit this post or add to this thread after I pop it in for a look.

I think I'm going to do the same (download) with Viva Pinata tomorrow as well as it looks kind of stupid from the videos but can't resist checking it out just in case.

Of some other recent 360 games.. Tiger Woods 07, sort of recent, is awesome (as golf games go). I suppose if you like gold computer games, this is the one to get. Controls/tutorial are all great. Character models are even better and should be what MMORPGs use for character building..can get really detailed. Phantasy Star Universe 360...eh, maybe in a few months when all the other games wear out, I'll try more of it. It pales in comparison to FFXII so is hard to even try much atm.

I played the trial of Phantasy Star Universe a few weeks back and I might have been interested in it if it had been free online but at 10$ a month, def. not worth it.

I've been playing Tiger Woods 07 on 360 a lot lately, if you're into golf games it's probably the best one ever.

Tiger Woods 07 just seems to have it all right this time. The swing, shot selection and putting (which I suck at IRL and in games) are all easy enough to get a handle on just by taking the time to do all the tutorial demos which doesn't take long.

Played CoD3 a little this morning. If you liked CoD2, think od CoD3 as more of the same but everything's a little bit better. The tutorial is quick and easy (seems to be a nice trend with 360 games) and then you're off to kill Nazis.

Action is intense and audio is great. I like it but you don't get much time to savor a kill and cut an ear off as a souvenir. This is more all out carnage than strategy which is fun too depending on what you're in the mood for.

For 360 WW2 games, I think The Outfit is underrated for CoOp play. It's less realistic but tons of fun to play with a friend.
