i got an 2.6ghz fx55 for 200 bucks with a free 250gig sata hd, it seemed like a pretty good deal even though i was saving up for a new core2 system. i'm getting reimbursed for the purchase since my birthday is coming up but i'm not sure if it was really a good choice..

anyway whats an good/easy socket 939 motherboard in the ~100 range?
i need a good hsf too, i don't care about noise but it gets hot as fuck in my room and i dont want to burn out another processor.

urgh i pretty much need a new everything

2 gig dual channel ram kit
new videocard
new psu
new case
dvd/cd burner

a fucking os cd

$45 seems like a good deal.

I just bought a 1.66 duo core laptop from Best Buy for 1,300$. 17 inch widescreen, cd/dvd burner, TV tuner, remote, 5 USB, multi card reader, 2g RAM, Nvidia 256mg card, and all the other crap that goes with it.

I put Company of Heros on it and maxxed out the settings and it runs it decently enough. I'll probably go back and turn some of the seetings down to max performance, but it runs WoW and Dawn of War like a wet dream over my wireless network, so I'm a happy camper.

It was totally an impulse buy, since my wife and I just happened to get random bonus checks at the same time. It's our Christmas present to one another

All in all, it can do virtually everything my friend's $5,500 Dell XPS gaming laptop can do. Funny, it bought it strictly to play WoW on, and I kept telling him he didn't need anything that powerful. He saw my laptop last night and said "Well, you were right".

yeah i totally glossed over but its ok i guess, the mobo comes with them
