Scubs on Comedy Central
Anyone else loving Scrubs on Comedy Central? I hope it replaces Mad TV completely.

Certain seasons of MadTV may have been better than certain seasons of SNL. But you're crazy if you think it's better overall. SNL has so many years to choose from, and many great casts over those years (with some admittedly weak ones in there as well) that it's just a much better choice for something that you're going to play a couple of times a day.
I don't know, every time I turn it to MadTV it seems like it's either a skit with Michael McDonald playing the little kid or retarded guy or whatever he is (is Stuart his name? something like that), Alex Borstein playing that horribly annoying faux-asian lady, Debra Wilson playing Oprah or Nicole Sullivan playing some sort of a really stupid girl working at a fast food restaurant or convenience store. I don't know if I've ever laughed once at an episode of MadTV.
While SNL has it's share of terrible recurring characters (hello "Superstar!" or anything played by Ana Gasteyer), at least Christopher Fucking Walken hosts it from time to time! SNL's 30ish seasons have 100x more funny stuff to choose from than Mad TV's 10ish.

CC actually played through the entire Kids in the Hall catalog at least twice through. However, it was a few years ago, and it came on at like 11am on weekdays. I believe it was like, 97-99 or so, because I used to actually set my VCR so I could watch it when I got home from school.Sylvus wrote:It's too bad Comedy Central ever lost SNL. Mad TV isn't funny. Or they could have at least played Kids in the Hall a little more, rather than showing 8-10 hours of Mad TV a day.
Scrubs is good though.
Though I vaguely remember watching it during mornings of no sleep while in Vegas. So I guess either it ran two different times, or ran much longer than I realized.

Oh yeah, I know they played it, it's just that Mad TV is always on when I'm around and KITH was only on in really weird times.
KITH is one of my favorite shows of all times, and it blows Mad TV out of the water. I wish CC could make more intelligent decisions!

What about "In Living Color"?
Jim Carey had some funny skits in that.
There's quite a few recognizable members of the cast:

Scroll down far enough on the cast list and you'll see Jennifer Lopez was a fly girl.

My only problem with Scrubs on comedy central is they sometimes cut scenes (to make more room for commercials?). They don't seem to cut anything too important to the particular episode but it still drives me nuts since I don't have my DVDs available to me atm.
Still it's nice to see this show finally make it's way to other networks (I think another channel has it as well, WGN maybe /shrugs).
It's one of my favorite comedies on tv right now.

Oh, and your poet Eliot had it all wrong:
