Well, the easiest way out is that a concerto is a piece of music composed for a solo instrument and accompanied by an orchestra. So you could have a concerto composed for trombone, or lute and that would be the get out of jail free answer.

To get a little technical...trombones would nearly always be included as the trombone is always represented in a full orchestra at least twice. If for some reason the accompanying orchestra is strictly a string orchestra then of course the answer would be no, but at least from all my experience of playing and listening...that situation would be rather uncommon.

As for a lute, I've never seen a lute as an instrument in an orchestra, I have however seen concertos composed for one or more classical guitars (closely related to a lute) so I'm sure there are concertos out there for lute.

Oh, and I'm not Mr Drolgin, but I felt like imparting an answer upon you good sirs.

This one time at band camp, Drolgin stuck a __insert musical instrument__ up his ass and felt __insert descriptive adjective__.

A. Being sexy
B. Saving the world
C. Creating the most beautiful piece of music ever made
D. Figuring out the plans for a new high powered telescope better than the James Webb one to allow all of mankind to see to the farthest edges of the universe.

Drolgin IS Music.

Before music was created, there was Drolgin.

Those who believe in Big Bang may argue with those who believe in Jesus,Moses et al, but they agree on one thing, Drolgin and Eve.

The source of creation.

Drolgin is the Alpha and the Omega.

Scientists at the Niels Bohr Institute acting on Drolgin's advice recently succeeded in causing quantum teleportation.

The answer is:

Sometimes.

---

The sound before the Big Bang was 'One, two, three, four'. Some people claim that there was a sound even before that, and that it went something like 'One, two'.
