I have to agree w/ Suev. Although I'm a fan and their title was inevitible since the 5 game series at Boston, it's still a little strange throwing a party after a loss. I will say this, they got there after sustaining quite a few injuries to important players. Yes, I know their resources allow them to have punch in the lineup regardless but they got a lot of support from players who were newbies technically. And you can add that playing in the environment that they do (51k+ even when tampa bay is there) is not exactly easy.
I would like to see another subway series this year. I would consider each of their seasons a failure if there wasn't. I know that most of the country wouldn't give a shit, but baseball is fairly localized anyway.
playing in Yankee Stadium isn't like playing anywhere else save Boston. The pressure is usually immense as are the crowds. You can go to a Yankee-Devil Ray game and there will be over 51,000 people in the stands. Some players thrive on it while a lot will choke as a result. That is what make players like Wang, Cano, Cabrera, etc special for this team.
Anyone can play on a team under the radar whom are never in a pennant race in front of 18,000 spectators.
Thats pitiful to be celebrating a eastern division title, just act like you been there before. Ask the Atlanta Braves how impressive it is to win a division title.

For the Braves, it just got old. I'm happy that we're out of the race (well, I really hope we're out of the wild card...haven't kept up). That many years in a row to go and only win...what...once?...screw that. You don't deserve to go.
