I played it on the 360 but It's available on most platforms.

If you're looking for a good kids game, this is one to consider.

You play a domesticated bear (Boog) that is released back into the wild after you get into trouble for raiding a store and chowing down on some food. You're main partner in the game is a mule deer named Elliott.

Gameplay is very simple. There are very clear instructions on how to go about doing things the first time you need to do them in the game. Your main ability is to throw things, mainly animals, at your enemies. Most handy is Elliot the deer. You can always grab and chuck him at something even if just for fun. As you progress through the game, you can use more animals as weapons. The first animal you must contend with are skunks. If you manage to make friends wtih them, you can use them later in the game. It's not an FPS though, more of a puzzle type game.

The story plays out in chapters made up of several challenges. Nothing too hard...you must do things like collect up the Skunk babies and return them to their parents for example, or go find certain flowers for a hottie doe that Elliott has his eye on. As you play, you unlock mini games which can be played anytime afterwards.

IMO, the graphics are great. I feel like I was dropped into Jellystone park. The voice acting is very good. Boog has a Baboo (Jungle Book) type voice while Elliot sort of sounds and jokes around like the Jackass (Eddie Murphy) in Shrek.

Playing the game reminded me of Sam and Max hit the road although the humor isn't as adult oriented as Sam and Max's. The game engine seems similar though.

My criticism is that it's too easy so far but that may be due to still being in the tutorial for the most part.

The game is well polished and should look and play fine on all platforms although I think a controller would work better than a keyboard as you need to do things like shake your ass to get a porcupine stuck on it off and that involves moving the left thumbstick back and forth. While in talk mode, you also use the thumbsticks to nod your hear up and down respond for yes and side to side for no.

Hard to recommend buying this unless you have kids so far as it seems a bit easy to pay $50.00 for but if it gets more challenging it might be a keeper. Definately worth a look if you need a kids game for the family.
