Looks pretty interesting. Made by the same people who made X-Men: Rise of the Apocalypse. Supposed to feature 140 Marvel Characters. I saw one video where Galactacus is destroying a city...
Check it out.

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Raven's X-men games always look good on paper. Then you play them and your fucking party members the game fucking FORCES you to take run around like retards and headlong into huge packs of enemies, and then use up all 10 of your health power ups at once because they are getting wrecked by a whole screen worth of enemies.
Seriously, fuck those games.
Seriously, fuck those games.
You're probably right kyou but the concept is great.
I wonder if they're teasing with all of those empty hexes where the character descriptions are. It says starting with 20 characters and unlock more but that's a ton of extra hexes that don't have characters yet. It says 140 (but doesn't specifically say playable) characters below which is a ton if all unique heroes/villains.

Assemble your Super Heroes – Create the ultimate dream team and dynamically switch team members, starting with 20 playable Marvel Super Heroes, and unlocking even more as you progress. Experience the full scale of the Marvel universe with a combined cast of over 140 characters.
Customize your team- Use a universal team upgrade system or customize each individual member for maximum effectiveness. Total team customization means a vast selection of power-boosting equipment, a unique team name and team icon, and an established team reputation as the story progresses.
Change the course of the game –The missions you accept, and the objectives that you meet, will have a direct impact on how the story plays out. At the end, see how your choices changed the fate of the Marvel universe.
Fight in no-holds-barred combat. With dynamic combat capabilities, you can now fight while airborne, on the ground, and even underwater! A host of combat tactics include grappling, charge attacks and a destructible environment, where everyday objects can become dangerous weapons.
Cooperate or compete online. Play the entire story from beginning to end individually or with up to 3 of your friends. Switch between cooperative and competitive mode to partner with or challenge up to three other players. Online multiplayer supports 1-4 people.
Unique comic book missions that are unlocked throughout the game will reenact legendary Marvel battles.
Over 17 exotic locales take the player around the world, out of the universe and back again.

I think that press release is misleading. I'd look for 140 characters featured in the game, not 140 characters that are actually playable... I could be wrong, but I just don't see it.
I did see Ghost Rider as a playable character which was pretty cool and I'm looking forward to playing Captain America, Dr. Strange and Silver Surfer.
On the subject of the X-men games... I only played Rise of the Apocalypse and only on the PC. I don't remember having the specific problems kyoukan mentioned, but I know for certain that I min-maxxed my party until I had an ideal team. I also know that if I deviated from that team my overall effectiveness went to shit. Off the top of my head, I remember Scarlett Witch being totally fucking useless.

The original X-Men Legends was one of the most entertaining and satisfying comic hero games I've played. A big part of the fun was COOP play with a friend that could jump in and out of the game at any time.
For some reason, I didn't care for the sequel, Rise of Apocalypse, but didn't give it much of a chance. There were some tweaks to the game I didn't like as I recall.

Looks cool. But is it the ultimate world or 616? I saw 616 spidey and Fury. and Ultimate Thor, Wolv, and maybe Cap. In the movie that is.

People might change their minds about Namor if he's able to bag Susan Storm-Richards!noel wrote: Anyone who posts that they're looking forward to playing as Namor would *definitely* be gay.
After reading Marvel Knights (4), drawn by none other than Sylvus's cousin, Steve McNiven, I've become a fan of the Invisible Woman. They managed to develop Susan Storm's character into someone worth reading about instead of mostly just going along with whatever Reed wanted in the past.
Anyways, in Marvel Knights 4 (posted in comic's forum)
http://www.veeshanvault.org/forums/view ... hp?t=13017
Namor tries once again to take Sue away from Reed during a time when the FF are bankrupt, have to move out of the Baxter building and fine normal jobs to pay the bills. The premiss is a little shaky but the storytelling is top notch. I Highly recommend the first eight issues of Marvel Knights: 4.
Here's a few pages of Sue/Invisible Woman from Marvel Knights: 4. The last few pages involving Namor are by a different artist than McNiven. I hid the pages to not spam this thread with with a bunch of pictures.
Namor reminds me of Kwon!

Sometime's when I see Steve's stuff, I wonder if he's kind of a pervert and I just never realized it. Actually, I probably don't get all of that from my dad's side, so I don't know why it never occurred to me before.
He's good though!

Quick Review:
It's X-men Legends 2 on crack. Virtually every aspect of XML2 has been improved upon. At this point, I'm finding the character customization menus somewhat confusing (I've been playing XML2 again for the last couple weeks cause I was jonesing for this) it seems like you can control where your skill points go like in XML2, but not your stat points. The other interesting thing is that you can change a character's costume I have 'Ultimate Captain America' and 'Classic Captain America' and each costume has unique effects on the characters skills.
A lot of the characters on the PC version are locked as the game starts, so currently I'm rolling with: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and Ms. Marvel (don't have her Binary costume yet). I'm getting a 5% attack bonus because they're all Avengers (similar to the team combination bonuses in XML2). I'd like to replace her with Dr. Strange, but he's not unlocked yet.
So far having a great time with the game.

I have a logitech rumblepad that I play with. It's basically the same as a PS2 Dual-shock. When XML2 came out I tried playing it with a keyboard and it was a horrible experience. =\
Still playing btw. I just finished Captain America's 'Simulation [Danger] Room' mission. I've now unlocked all of his costumes which are pretty cool.
The characters you can play at the start of the game that I know of (PC only) are:
Captain America
Thor
Ms. Marvel
Mr. Fantastic
Storm
Luke Cage
Invisible Woman
Wolverine
The Thing
Spiderman
Johnny Storm
Elektra
Iceman
Deadpool
Spider-Woman

System Reqs:
Seems like the game is really picky with Video cards.
This game plays great on my desktop but will not play on my laptop. XML2 would play on my laptop just fine, so that kinda sucks. The system requirements for PC are:
- 3D hardware accelerator card required -100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 128MB video card and drivers
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
- Processor: Pentium 4.20GHz or AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.6GHz)
- RAM: 512MB
- Hard Drive Space: 8GB minimum (plus 400MB for Windows swap file)
- Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible true 16-bit sound card and drivers
- DirectX Version: 9.0c (Included)
- DVD-ROM: 100% Windows 2000/XP compatible 2X speed or better DVD-ROM drive and drivers
- Controls: 100% Windows 2000/XP compatible mouse, keyboard and drivers
- Additionally Supported Peripherals: 100% Windows 2000/XP compatible USB Gamepad
- Supported Chipsets for Windows 2000/XP
o All NVIDIA GeForce 7300 128MB and better chipsets
o All ATI Radeon X1300 128MB and better chipsets
- Multiplayer Requirements: Internet (TCP/IP) play supported, Broadband Connection required
- Recommended for Internet Play: 256K (2 players), 384K (3 players), 512K (4 players) downstream/upstream

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Is this game friendly with mouse/keyboard? I don't have a gamepad for my PC as I prefer to play xbox 360 when I want to use a gamepad. Anyone playing it using the keyboard/mouse? How is it? I'm looking for a different type of game to play, and this one has caught my eye, but I would want it for PC and without needing a gamepad.

If you enjoy the style of play in X-Men Legends, you'll like Ultimate Alliance as it's the same engine with four man groups but with a lot more characters to chose from for your team.Hesten wrote:I downloaded it, and see it for sale now, considering buying it, but havent had time to play the cracked version yet.
So, is it any good? Played XL2 some, but never got time to play it after i got my new PC

I agree fully.
I cannot understand why they made a black Nick Fury and an asian Wasp, when the originals work and have nothing to be complained about.
Why not make Luke Cage and Black Panther scrawny redheads while yer at it?
Shang Chi could be an overweight aussie fighting with a surfboard?
If people feel that all the races aint shown in Marvel Comics, why not make some new colored heroes instead of changing the classics?
Pink Hulk while we're at it???
Whats so wrong with the old Nick Fury?
