Is Micro$ofts wireless NIC the only one useable with the 360. Due to room layout theres no way I'm going to be able to get a cable over near the TV, and I'm sure as hell not paying 100 bux for something you can get for 20ish for the PC.
Also need a way to recover my gamertag without being at the 360 but xbox live's site is making my eyes bleed. Anyone that uses the service have a quick link they can throw me?
And last but not least, games look FANTASTIC in HD, 780p/1080i, any reason to use one above the other?
More Xbox 360 info needed.

A standard, 3rd party USB wireless adapter won't work simply because there's no way to have drivers for the thing to actually work with the 360.
The work around is something like (Look at Game Adapters)
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellit ... torWrapper
Once you configure this, you hook it up wia wire to your 360 and will act as a bridge to your wireless network(it will require to be hooked up to your PC for configuration).
here are 2 other types of units from DLink (62$ and 89$ respectively):

All in all you could save form 10-40$ with his over buying the adapter however they'll require another power plug behind your entertainment system as well as will add yet another device and more cables to the mix.
