I heard about this one from a friend of mine a few years backbut my the time the PS1 was low enough in price and I got one, I couldn't find it anywhere.
Hopefully Konami makes the port worthwhile.
Konami made it clear that it is not an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive
I imagine it's gonna be coming to all 3 console's online service.
Just on the heels of Capcom's Street Fighter II being made available on the Xbox Live Arcade, Konami has revealed that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will be released on the online platform. Widely regarded as the best title in the series that was given a US release, its one of the rarest PlayStation One titles. The game was widely known for its soundtrack, which won't fit in the 50MB limit for Xbox Live Arcade titles.
Microsoft has maintained that is only a guideline though, so it's quite possible that the game could be compressed or come in at its full CD size. The 1UP report, said that the game will be available in early 2007, and that Konami made it clear that it is not an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive (perhaps coming to the Wii?). Also, 1UP made it clear that it will be the PlayStation version of the game, instead of the expanded Saturn version that only saw a Japanese release.
Regardless, we're excited to get our hands on a widescreen HD version of one of the greatest side-scrollers of all-time. Of course, it's no Turbo-CD version of Dracula X: Rhondo of Blood, but we'll take what we can get.
Nice that they may not limit themselves to 50mb games on Live. I've got 12 demos and 9 HD videos on my HD atm with 4GB of space left. 500-600mb games sold through Live shouldnt be that bad although Microsoft should start offering 100GB HDs as cheap as they are now for sale with future XBoxs. The problem with upgrading to a larger HD would be having to redownload all of your games again. Offering a way to make a backup image onto your PC HD then uploading it to a larger HD might solve the problem.
I'm hoping for a real hack for the 360 so some sort of way to use 500GB HDs on the 360 will work. That, along with an old school XBMC type player would make the 360 outstanding as a Home Theater addition.

It's already an outstanding home theather addition as long as you have the media center PC to support it(or Vista, I've been running Beta 2 build 5472 on my PC at home for 2 weeks now without so much as booting XP)

oops, forgot I had Vista beta 2 installed on another partition. Are there any hacks so it will run all types of media? (like XBMC, divx, xvid, etc?)
Download build 5472. that extender is full features and works well enough to be release software. DivX/xvid still isn't supported, nor am I aware of any hacks that will make em work.
