Finally back in the gym... question...

Post by Ransure »

Ok, so after 8 months and 30lbs, Im finally back in the gym after having my ACL reconstructed. Im doing 1-2hrs a day of cardio right now, and then I plan on having a personal trainer to develop a program (in the past Ive sucked at this).

My question is, that after about 30 mins of cardio, no matter the type, my toes start to go numb.... this has never happened before... is it just bad circulation? or is there something I can do about it?...

I actually have that same problem, never found a fix for it so would like to hear if anyone else does?

heh i am by no means an expert on cardio (always the part of my workout i dread)
but im sure some good stretching, even in the middle of your workout could always help, also maybe your shoes?

i got rid of a similar problem when i started running regularly by buying better sneakers, but it was only my big toe going numb so i'm not sure if your issue is the same as mine.

Yea, thats what I thought... bought some nice new ones... still happening... oh well, Ill give it a few months... might just be my unhealthy lifestyle giving me shitty circulation.

The reason your toe is going numb is because of your shoe. Its not sitting right and its cutting off the blood/pinching a nerve. It happend to me while at MP school (1 month ago) and I thought the damn thing was going to fall off. I went to the doctors and they took x rays and everything just to make sure. But the final to it was just he fact my boots were rubbing on the one section that pushes 2 small bones in the big toe in to a nerve. After long periods of time, it just lasted longer and longer.

After 1 month, Im just now finally regaining the feeling. So dont freak out. Just get new shoes.
