Celestial Tomb now on Guk - EQ2
Greetings, Hail and Train Inc!!!
Celestial Tomb has reformed in EQ2 on the Guk server (Freeport Faction).
We currently have 10 members from the EQ1 guild and are planning on just having a good time with whatever this game has to offer.
The current plan is to level at a pace somewhere beyond casual and raid when the time comes. If you find yourself a little older now, not able to commit all those hours per week into a game and are looking for a group of old friends to hang out with, then defineatly swing on in and join up.
Most of our current members have not really played EQ2 much, if at all, so we are pretty excited about all the new content. So many expansions and adventure packs already out, will give us tons to do for quite some time.
If you have not played EQ2, go download the trial at http://www.trialoftheisle.com and join the Guk server (Freeport Faction), if you like it and decide to upgrade to a full account, you can use that character to continue on with and join us for all the content the game has to offer.
If you have already beat the hell out of EQ2 and are bored with your raiding guild, or whatever you are doing... then consider us, all are welcome. We are not expecting any type of commits to X number of hours per week or anything like that, again... we are just looking to get some old names together and have some fun.
This message is primarily directed toward ex-CT members, but anyone else that has had that long burning fantasy of being one of the Tomb from the days long past, it is now again your chance, don't pass it up!
Kyoukan, I even have a spot for you.
We have a Ventrilo server, voice comms are prefered over typing. So if you plan on playing with us on a frequent basis then consider investing in a microphone and downloading ventrilo. http://www.ventrilo.com
The current forums are listed as a sub-guild of Guild Unknown, here is a direct link > http://www.guildunknown.com/index.php?n ... 5355e54c57
Lastly I just want to say again, those of us already on the server are here for the content, all of it. We have zero desire to rush to level 70 and miss out on many of the areas we have yet to see in order to "raid the endgame". So please make sure that is what you want as well before joining up with us, don't want to mislead anyone.
See you on Guk!
Xanupox / Scar
P.S.
If you played EQ2 along time ago, many things have changed! New Character Models, Revamped Combat System, Revamped Class system, Revamped Tradeskills and Most of the Quests from 1-20 were reworked.
If it has been around quite awhile since you last played EQ2, you may qualify for a free 10 days gametime promotion! Just install the game and login with your old username/password and you can play for FREE for 10 days. If you enjoy then stick around with us, if not... then at least you took a look.

To clarify, Thess did not lead CT, she cajoled people into doing shit while negotiating to hop guilds. Not attacking her, just making sure we are all on the same sheet of music.
On a side note we have an old school CT'er (Claritin/Pepto) with us who led one of the best EQ2 guilds for years, and over 1000 levels of EQ2 Experience from the people we suckered back into EQ2
So we are not doing this blind, and uyes we may be filling time until something better comes along, but DDO ran out of content for us.
It is okay Kyoukan, if you actually were invited to CT, I would deguild, drive to Xan's, spit in his face and laugh as I walked away. So you do not have to worry about it happening.

We finished it.noel wrote:I thought DDO was the second coming of CT...
8 Characters 2 of the being dual played can handle anything in DDO, and you could maybe cut it down to dropping the twinks and a main or two if not for runes int and str requirments.
Maybe in a few more modules...

Kylere is 100% correct, after his, "I will not play EQ until CT is UBER again - we could have been the first to kill Rallos Zek post", I didn't even try leading CT.Kylere wrote:To clarify, Thess did not lead CT, she cajoled people into doing shit while negotiating to hop guilds. Last I knew, Tiglat was playing EQ2 on the euro server. Oncelot was still playing EQ, but having a lot of real life trouble so is on a break. I haven't heard anything about Icemana.Xanupox wrote:Just an update, we are up to around 20 members, most from the old crew.

Well, if anyone still has connections open with any of the old CT members, pass the word along about the EQ2 guild on Guk, appreciation given in advance.

well im having a lot of fun on WOW now, i mainly just do AV after AV, beats the hell out of the old sit in the corner and make mod rods MMORPG days
i did play EQ2 for a while when it 1st came out and got bored with it, if there is server trasfers and whatnot i can donate my Xzion, 50 kerra berserker account if one of you want to take it over for whatever reason, i was in a guild with Kaluian on EQ2 though from old CT,
either way quit that boring game and come to mannoroth where you can actually experience great online pvp and have fun on a more fastpace and casual game

Think we will stick with EQ2 until something better shows up, playing WoW is as challenging as picking on Bush.

That's about as stupid as saying you played WoW at release and it sucked because there was like 2 raids, fuck all for PvP except TM zergs and nothing to do but farm faction/gold.i did play EQ2 for a while when it 1st came out and got bored with it, if there is server trasfers and whatnot i can donate my Xzion, 50 kerra berserker account if one of you want to take it over for whatever reason, i was in a guild with Kaluian on EQ2 though from old CT
I loved WSG and AB and played the hell out of them... but farming rank gets pretty fucking boring after a few weeks. But more power to you if you can find enjoyment in repetition.i mainly just do AV after AV
There is no PvP on PvP servers in WoW except for BGs.quit that boring game and come to mannoroth where you can actually experience great online pvp
You should try PvP in EQ2... people actually partake in spontaneous world PvP. You don't have to queue up to kill other players.

Kylere, I have known you for a long time and always liked you, but stop making such a fool of yourself by posting things you can't support. Just because you do not like a game doesn't give you the right to make unsupported claims against it.
On topic:
I am currently playing WoW on Garona Hordeside. Haven't looked at EQ2 since its release, so not really sure what the game is like anymore. Considering stopping in on Guk when i get some free time, though.

I played WoW for 8months. It's ghey. Once you grind to 60, you have nothign to do but shitty faction work and gold farming. It's dreadfully boring and uninteresting. If you have a good guild, I'm sure it can be fun because you are all together raiding the same 3 things every few ngihts. EQ2 has an enormous amount of content and even the grinding parts of it are made interesting through it's ridiculous amount of quests. Plus, the storyline is far more interesting. It's not even comparable. I'm not sure why I'm even bothering typign this.
on mannoroth there is a lot of good world PVP in STV with 60smiir wrote:That's about as stupid as saying you played WoW at release and it sucked because there was like 2 raids, fuck all for PvP except TM zergs and nothing to do but farm faction/gold.i did play EQ2 for a while when it 1st came out and got bored with it, if there is server trasfers and whatnot i can donate my Xzion, 50 kerra berserker account if one of you want to take it over for whatever reason, i was in a guild with Kaluian on EQ2 though from old CT

This thread is about CT on Guk in EQ2... not how shitty WoW is or is not.
By the way, WoW is a great game until you get to level 55. Then it turns into a boring ass chore of mind numbing repitition. The quests beyond 45-50 are almost non-existant and the way the game just abandons your character with the lack of quests compared to the first 40 levels often makes you feel like you are just wandering aimlessly through its world.
WoW is horribily underdeveloped from level 50-60, with recent zones just a collage of killquests and boring raidzones.
I played WoW the first time till level 45 on a PvP server and quit because every other character on the server was a rogue who thought the point of the game was to wait until a player was almost dead from fighting a few mobs then jumping them.
I played WoW the 2nd time to level 60, Raided, Epic'd out, did the PvP in the instances, felt like I was on the "quest for fire" when I looked for overland world pvp.... and re-rolled a rogue on a new PvP server.
I played the PvP rogue for 2 months, ganking like any rogue champ does and found the game to be so pointless I cancelled, uninstalled and never looked back.
EQ2 has so much content, classes, spell selection, tradeskills, instances, solo/group/raid options that it is often overwhelming at times. Plus EQ2 has its 3rd expansion coming out soon, and where is the WoW expansion?
Having played both, I am going to say that EQ2 is clearly the better game for the overall experience. If there was one reason why, it is the mentoring ability. In WoW if you are level 60 and you have a friend join the game, what options do you have that will allow you to group and adventure with this person? None. However in EQ2, you can Mentor them, dropping to thier level, still getting expereince (though small) but also help your friend level and enjoy the game together.
EQ2 4 tha WIN!

Hell hath frozen over....Xanupox and I actually agree on something.
Mentoring also allows you to experience content/dungeons that you may have missed (or skipped over) while leveling up. It also gives guilds a way of non-trivilaising raid content.Having played both, I am going to say that EQ2 is clearly the better game for the overall experience.
