While I will agree that there is necessarly no difference between the 2 in regards to corruption while in power, someone's belief system, race, sexuality and definitely religiosity (especially in regards to fundamentalist) plays a HUGE impact when determining if someone is a sexual deviant.

Lets take sex out of it... beside the 2 guys in the DC area shooting case, do you know of any high profile black serial killers?

Look at all the molestion and child rape cases in the news, notice a pattern? Most of them are white guys and very often they are from an overtly strict religious upbringing...

Look at the BTK killer, again, some white guy heavily engaged in a sexually repressive version of Christanity...

If you were able to go to the FBI's standard profile for a child molester the first person they are going to look for is a middle aged whilte male with a fundamentalist belief system (could be any religion). The reason is that these people can't accept or integrate their nomal desires into their life belief system, the longer they repress it, the worse it will be when it break free. Thus eventually what was once a normal belief becomes something deviant because they "think" it's easier to hide from themselves and others. While yes I do almost have a MS in Psych and did a lot of research since I worked with sexually abused children, this is abnormal psych 101...

I'm would bet, if someone wanted to do the research, that democrats in general would have a much lower occurance of this because they are in general more open about their desires, even if they are religious. They might have more extramatrial affiars, more S&M advocates etc... but less child molesters.

I am not going to bother, because it is too easy, and I could even do it without all the extra spacing and including county reps to make it seem longer.

The suggestion that conservatives tend to molest more is silly, how do you figure in countries where people rape 9 year olds and buy 7 year olds because they think doing a virgin will cure aids? How does that equate?

People that mess with kids lack an internal moral compass, and saying that Dems have a stronger one is silly. Hell it would be more interesting politically if you combined all the parties, but then people would realize that it was politicians that are the problem. We could do a list of Cops that have commited such offenses, or doctors etc. None of it is relevant to anything, hell if we go back 100 years as this list does, I bet the Catholic Church would win hands down, but no reason to slight them, that would be because they track it as a whole rather than the baptist churches tracking it individually. Eith way it is silly math, and on level with some please-forward-or-timmie-will-go-hungry-chain-emails.

You say you bet there is no difference then you point to Catholic Priests... If ther term "middle aged white male of an overtly repressive, especially sexually, religiosity" defines anyone... it would define a Catholic Priest.

I didn't say the Dems were necessarily a better judge of character or had higher morals, I just said they are less likely to be child molesters because they don't fit the profile as well... profiles are based upon statistics and convicted cased to get a psychological picture of the "average" stereotype... it just makes it easier to find the guilty person...

Kyou is on target in her description minus the personal attacks... me personally I don't think they are called for. But I will also add this, working with those kids and having to supervise visits with potential perpertraitors - while most do fit that profile, they can be anyone. It's just that most of them fit the profile.
