Baghdad ER
HBO is showing this special on May 21st. It does not matter whatever side of the war you are on, this should be watched by all to see the tragic toll war takes on all the people involved.
I put this on the CE section so more people would see it. If the mods want to move it, I understand.

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Yeah it happens Nick, but I will tell you one thing. Stragi was right, it is creepy when someone stalks people after virtually every post.

I think that this documentary is supposed to be a pretty honest portrayal of what it's like to be a doctor in Iraq.Nick wrote:Or you could check out Salam Ishmael's papers on what it's actually like being a doctor in Iraq.
I wonder if this show will be accurate or just a money making/propoganda project attempt under the guise pseudo education.
If it makes you rethink your opnion of it, one of the higher-ups in the Army or Marines made a comment that people might not want to watch this. The official position being (sort of?) against the documentary leads me to believe that it's probably a pretty accurate account of what it's like to be a doctor over there.
Call me cynical.

The story I read was that they didn't think troops that returned home would want to watch it since it could trigger post-traumatic stress issues.Sylvus wrote:I think that this documentary is supposed to be a pretty honest portrayal of what it's like to be a doctor in Iraq.Nick wrote:Or you could check out Salam Ishmael's papers on what it's actually like being a doctor in Iraq.

I heard both the returning troops as well as Joe Sixpack, but perhaps it was taken out of context.Boogahz wrote:The story I read was that they didn't think troops that returned home would want to watch it since it could trigger post-traumatic stress issues.
