I thought it felt like the game was faster/easier

Post by miir »

Just comparing stats from characters I played about a year ago to characters I'm playing now.

1 year ago:

40 Bruiser
Mostly solo
9619 total kills
602 quests

42 Warlock
About equal group/solo
13364 total kills
377 quests

32 Berserker
Group mostly
6505 total kills
256 quests

-----------------

Now:

41 Mystic
About equal solo/group
5516 total kills
255 quests

36 Fury
Mostly solo
5557 total kills
323 quests

28 Ranger
Exclusively solo
3003 total kills
131 quests

--------------------------

My mystic has a little over 1/3 of the kills and over 100 less quests but is almost equal level... weird. Maybe the 50 more deaths (on the warlock)has something to do with it but I doubt it would account for having to kill 8k more mobs.

I haven't done this exact same thing but I was feeling like it was a little easier to level my monk simply because the monk could kill things in half the time. However in comparison to my guardian who I started last summer he definitely has less kills... see below:

Marbus - 29 Guardian (no exp in 29)
Mostly Solo
Total Kills - 3431
Quests - 94

Mathis - 28 Monk (almost 29)
Mostly Solo
Total Kills - 2,195
Quests - 74

One thing I might add though is that Mathis continually kills stuff 2 to 3 levels higher than him or ^^ and ^^^ a few levels below. Both scenarios he gets about 80% of a blue bubble per kill. While Marbus, even though equipped in Full Legendary with a Legendary Sword, Fabled Bow and Legendary Shield had to start killing blues once they nerfed Guardians with the first expansion... I'm sure that alone counts for a big part of the higher NPC kills. Thus some of the differences may be based on character imbalance... that being said though, it's my understanding that Warlocks are DPS kings or at least were last summer so...

Do you XP these days without vitality? Did you XP without it back when you didn't know if you had it or not?

That alone would account for a lot of the difference I suspect.

My playing habits are pretty much the same... and I don't really pay attention to vitality. Unless I take a break for several days, my vitality is usally gone in less than an hour anyway.
