Check out the demo on this game if youre into this kind of thing. Most tycoon games are pretty crappy but I'm loving this one. The production values are actually excellent on this game which suprised me. Good graphics, lots of storyline missions to give you new things to focus on, and even good voice acting.
The game is all about owning and building properties in New York. Its very simple to play. Just build dance clubs and book stores in the student districts.. family restaurants in the middle class neighborhoods.. Massive office warehouses and department stores in urban areas.. etc.
You start out story mode in Greenwich and eventually unlock new areas of Manhattan. The unlocks arent new zones, either. Theyre actually all seamlessly connected so you can fly around the whole city. So far I've unlocked SoHo, Tribeca, and Little Italy. Each region has its own properties and missions. For example, I can only build full-blown Art Galleries in SoHo, and I can only build high-rise headquarters for my business chains in Tribeca. So it stays relatively true to the real New York.
Dont get this looking for a challenging game though. Theres basically no way to lose, you can only slow the rate at which you win. Its just good fun. I would love to see them continue this series with San Francisco or something.
