Waste of time and money...unless you're a fan of Lineage 2 but prefer robots and guns. It's scary how similar this game from Codemasters is to Lineage 2 from NCSoft. The only "nice" thing about the game is that you can basically go afk for an "unlimited" amount of time and make money while mining. The only limits are that you mine in a PvP area and someone can come by and kill you, and you must have enough batteries for your mining tool to keep doing it (if you weren't killed).

It's scary how similar this game from Codemasters is to Lineage 2 from NCSoft.
Codemasters is only distributing the UK/Euro/NorthAmerican 'version' of the game.
The game was originally released by Korean developer CCR back in 2004 (around the same time as L2).

I played a bit of the Codemasters beta and wasn't very impressed.
The interface looks nice but cannot be customised... at all.
The graphics and models are pretty cool... if you're into anime style.
There are no custom graphics for armor. You look the same as every similar leveled XX class from your race. This is most likely to reduce lag in mass PvP. And it works... even with a hundred other players in your vicinity, the game is virtually lag free.

The weapon models are outrageous... huge guns/bows, GIGANTIC swords/spears/axes.

Three races each with a special race-specific skill.
Cora (elves) have Summons (pets).
Bellatio (gnomes?)have MAUs (mechs).
Accretia (robots) have Launchers (long-range seige weapons)

No real quests to speak of.
The standard kill X number of X mobs.
Crafting is limited to one class and rather rudimentary.

The ingame economy model is interesting and well thought out.
Basically, the more currency a race has (as a whole), the higher thier tax rate will be.

Mass PvP is the real focus of the game.
One on One pvp does not exist... Short cooldown, readily available, cheap potions prevent that.

Gameplay consists exclusively of grinding and scheduled mass pvp (Chip Wars).

I can't think of anything except fellatio when I see the 'gnome' race name.

Does it have a level grind that would make a bot weep?

The level grind isn't too bad, but the PT (skill points, basically) grind can be brutal.
