Grats me!

Post by valryte »

Got my first major win in a live poker tournament. 150 buy in, 4600 payoff, 280 players. The last 4 of us had even money and the blinds were so ridiculous we just chopped it. 200K in chips each and blinds at 30K. Was pointless to go on. Was kind of funny, when it was down to the last four, one guy who wanted to split it before, changed his mind. That first hand I took half his chips. THEN he said, ok lets chop it :) I played several single table 140 buyin and split first and gotten 2nd several times, but this was my first major multi-table. Anyways, just wanted to share my excitement in case anyone cares hehe...

So did you win $4600 or $1150?

My cut was 4600...I don't think 1150 would be worth the time to go through 280 people :) I'm hoping to get one or two more and then go for one of the $1000 buyins that they have at the end of each month.

Taxes? youre forgetting who it is your talking too.

The Columbian Druglord knows how to hide that money from the Feds

Gratz on the win Val!
Winning a big HoldEm hand still provides a rush that is hard to match. I cant imagine winning a big tourni outright. I may wet myself if I ever find myself in the situation.

Grats me again, 3rd place $3600 :) I'm on the small blind with pocket Queens. The button raises 60K (we're at 30K big blind). I go all in with 240K. The big blind goes all in with like 400K. I'm like oh shit...the button lays his hand down. Dam big stack on the button has KK. Not something you see very often 3 handed, but oh well, what can you do.

I'm 2 for 3 now in the money. 1 more big win and I'm going to move up to a bigger tourney and see how that goes. Next one is either 250 or 300 buyin.
