I have it but I don't care for online play. It's like this tactical shooter in single player and then all of a sudden you go online and its just deathmatch. You can't even fire from cover.
The single player is alright, and I love shooting mexicans but where are all the people? Isn't this mexico city?

Speaking as someone who was horribly disappointed with the utter trash that the Rainbow Six series has become... How is this game? Is it a tactical shooter, or just a shooter? Are the levels linear? Are the weapons realistic? Is it fun? Can you 1 shot kill a tango? Can you be one shot killed? Finally, how is the enemy AI/Team AI?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

I wasn't able to find some definitve info, but I hear that the PC version might have a co-op mode through the story.kyoukan wrote:I have it but I don't care for online play. Here's an article I found online.
http://www.eurogamer.net/article_discus ... e_id=63142
Following the announcement that the PC version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has been delayed, producer Mathieu Girard has gone on record to explain why.
In short: "To achieve better quality and deliver all the features we wanted to have in the game," according to Girard.
"GRAW PC is a project developed specifically for this machine so its development cycle was different from that of the other platforms."
So what will be different, exactly? Well, the gameplay, for starters. "For instance the ghosts are controlled in a way that is specific to the PC, with a much more accurate order system," Girard said.
"This involves adapting all the game content (including reprogramming completely the enemy AI) and tuning it to this way of playing."
The storyline and setting will be the same as in the Xbox 360 version, Girard went on, "But all the rest had to be reworked, to appeal to a GR1 audience while at the same time taking into account the new PC specific features.
"The other major differences are, of course, full first-person control, and PC-specific multiplayer modes."
Girard described his team's multiplayer plans as "very ambitious" - but don't worry, it's all coming together.
"Things such as simulating a fully interactive physical environment over the network were risky, but we are now comforted that the co-operative mode will deliver unprecedented experience of multiplayer gameplay.
"The domination mode is also very promising as it changes the control of areas to something more interesting than simply capturing flags." That's all he's saying for now, but we're promised more details soon.
The PC version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is now down for a May release. The Xbox 360 game will be first to arrive on March 10th, followed by the Xbox release a week later and the PS2 version on March 31st.

Yeah not being able to lean in MP is kinda weak, but I'm still loving it. I was under the impression you could do the Campaign over Live co-op as well? Can you lean in that still, assuming you can acutally co-op it up? (I haven't tried yet)kyoukan wrote:I have it but I don't care for online play. It's tactical but not to the point of being annoying like RB6 (fuck raven shield)
Most of my play has been online but the few SP missions I've completed didn't really feel all that linear, but your waypoints are all mapped out and stuff so you won't be getting lost unless you feel like exploring. Damage wise it's pretty realistic, I have yet to be killed by 1 shot, but you will die *very* fast if your trying to cowboy it up.
I haven't had too big of a problem with the Team AI yet, enemy AI seems decent but really easily fooled/distracted by you taking cover.
edit: when I say mapped out I DON'T mean like in RB6. It's just some icons on your HUD. You also have a tactical map and in some levels you get a UAV that you can control and use to scout the map.

Just as an FYI, Rainbow Six has gone from annoying tedious tactics to none at all.
It's literally no more than a linear shooting gallery with the most recent release of Lockdown.
I totally get people not liking the mapping and planning bullshit, but they've gone in the opposite direction and made it a game for idiots.
Thanks for the info on GRAW, Stragi. I'm looking forward to it.
