I played for a couple of monthes. I quit just as I was about to finish my second ascension. It is fun for awhile. I might start playing again some time in the future.

Fun game! Started a Disco fella (Bandit / Rogue thingy).

Better graphics than WoW + EQ2 so we can skip the armor discussion now! :D

I been playing 2 accounts for over a year, got a 2 Hardcore oxygenarian Turtle Tamer and a normal ascention Turtle tamer at the moment.

Oh, and if you play softcore, you should definitely spend some meat at Testudinata, the best and cheapest buffbot around. I actually skipped buying a few skills myself because its cheaper in 1 ascention to buy from Testu :). AND having 6-8 buffs do make a difference in some fights, and especially on meat/item farming :).

Nope.
Once there was some sober item, but not any more. Basically, learn the drunkenness of the different drinks, and drink to 14, since 15 make you go into drunken stupor.
You get a quest later that raise it to 20, so then drink to 19, spend all turns, then drink again, then you got a few extra turns saved up for the next day :)

Also, join a clan fast, its 4 more turns a day + 500 meat a day from the clans meat tree. And no, sorry, i wont drop my 2 clans, like them too much by now.

Also read up on the strategies on http://www.thekolwiki.net/wiki

And use the mall as much as you can, 50K to buy a shop sound like much at start, but when you can sell various ingredients for cash, you earn it in again FAST. Just farm some in the graveyard for smart skulls, or in the fenswarthys basement for brains, then sell those, and try to buy better gera. Best overall gear ATM are the star stuff, but need high skills to use it.

Oh, and when you reach level 12 or so, you can farm meat at the Icy Peak fairly easy. With familiar buff and saucesphere from Testu the buffbot, and a 20 lb leprechaun with its item, you can make 600+ pr turn. Actually you can make a profit by buying bat wing/rat appendix/the last one i cant remember, and eat those. They cost like 6-7K each in mall, but they give 23-27 turns each, so can easily make that money back and more just by meat farming :)

Thanks a lot for the KoL help Hesten!

What drinks give the most Adventure points?

I drank a crappy drink turning ALL but 1 of my Hitpoints into Mojopoints! (and it gave me 1 adv point).

Which ones give 5+ adv pts? :D

Any drinks you can recommend and which to stay away from?

http://www.thekolwiki.net/wiki/Category ... kenness%29

NM! Just found some goodies! :D

Bodyslam, Cherry Bomb etc it is!!!

Grogs are great! Just 3 drunkenness and 5-10 adv and 8-10 str.

Don think those drinks from youe Evil Arches, theyre for regenning mp fast :)

When you can afford it, the 4 drunkenness drinks are best, lots of them really, and prices vary some, so find the cheapest ones of thsoe nice one form from the wiki.

Warriors (Seal Clubbers) just got Dual Wield with today's patch! :)

The weapon in offhand does not do 100 % same damage though, but still!

Dual-wielding Two Ice-Sickles are great! :)

-

All the classes got decent new skills beside TT's, but they will get a skill later on beside the one they got today.

Just beware getting your main skill up TOO fast. Not as bad if youre a moxie class, then you just run into the problem with having a 30 round fight (max before fight end automatically) where you cant hit the mob because you got too low muscle, but the mob cant hit you either.

But if you a muscle class and dont have any moxie, you basically fucked. I made the mistake of eating/drinking muscle stuff at day 1 of the 2nd account, so i had a level 5 TT with like 6 moxie. Got hit constantly no matter where i went, ended up having to use 2 days worth of adventures in the gnome camp training moxie.

Well, you dont need any muscle if you use Ranged Weapons if i have understood it correctly. Damage is dependant on the Moxie for Ranged Weaps yes?

What do you think of the new skills?

Unless they changed it, it only use Moxie AFTER you get the skill for it (at least disco bandits got some crossbow skill that let you use moxie instead of muscle when using crossbows).

Havent looked into them yet, since both my chars ATM are TTs.

If you are thinking about Crossbow Fever, it just makes you miss less with Crossbows.

Well the common consensus from all teh chattypants in teh KoL-Chat and the forums are that you use Moxie-stat when deciding dmg when using range, but after trying it a bit, it seems to be incorrect!

Hesten is correct!

Do you guys have any tips on gaining back hp? I don't have enough meat to buy healing or potions, and healing back 50+hp at 3-4 a turn just eats all of my adventure points.

p.s. The Boss Bat keeps beating my ass!

p.p.s. Bastard clans never respond to my join requests!

I can send you some healing pots.

I'm a Disco Bandit so i have self-healing skills (Disco Nap/Disco PowerNap), so i just need MP and i can heal.

Then again, why not use a ring of half-asses regen combined with ghuol pet?

ghoul pet heals you after a win (eating corpses).

You are Waikiki in KoL?

-

So, unless you have selfheal and don't want to spend APs resting, get a regen ring and/or a healing pet!

Dont use Mosquito, believe me on that one. Get a ghuol egg, they should be easy and cheap, and when close to death, do a few turns in a newbie zone

Or get a cocoabo, go to a newbie zone with no weapon equipped (not newbie, but the lowest you can go where mobs wont damage you, the more HP on mobs, the more heals/mana). It heal in middle of fight.
Alternatively, get a Spice, and use that one instead of attacks, spice hit forf 2-3 damage, so fight last untill the cocoabo kill the mob more or less :)

Oh, and the zombie pirate pet are NOT something you just get, need a LOT of cash, or several ascentions to farm items, since they drop in various ascention zones.

Got one cheap at the Flea Market! :D

Items are listed in alphabetic order there, just scroll down to ring.

When you are lvl 5 you can use the Mall and search for what you need.

If you don't have meat enough to buy it, it drops in Room 6 of The Daily Dungeon.

Ya, my name is waikiki in the game. I am only a level 5 TT.

Hopefully tonight i'm going to work on baking some stuff that is supposed to give a lot more turns!

I was just able to access the KOL wiki today, and it has really good information on there. Hopefully I'll be able to farm some meat and just buy healing potions or something.

Send a /w Kwonryu Hulloz in the chat or just a message to Kwonryu!

I'll send you some starting items and a clan!! :)

Lots of Bonus with the Clan, you get +500 cash and +adventures every day as well as a gym and stash etc.

-

To Waikiki

Use the Lep, cherish the Lep

Items

Get a Meat Detector for the Leprechaun

Later on get a Lucky Tam o Shanter for Leppy.

Duck-on-a-String (+10% items, +5 melee damage, and 100 power)
Toy Train (+10% meat)
Tiny plastic Hermit (+6% meat)
Porquoise Necklace (+10% meat)

There is a new item, called the Baron Von Ratsworth's money clip, that is untradeable and gives a +15% meat drop bonus. You would equip that in place of the TP hermit if you have one.

Consumables

Eat three (four if you have stomach of steel) of the cheapest chow meins you can find, of either Bat Wing, Knob Sausage, or Rat Appendix.

Send 8 meat to Testudinata for a single shot of Ode to Booze (+1 adv a drink)

Drink four slap and tickles and one extra-spicy bloody mary. (Or just 3 slap and tickles, and no extra-spicy bloody mary's, if you don't have liver of steel.)

Why slap and tickles? They're typically the cheapest DB drink to make, and to buy. Their base drink is salty dogs, which cost 130 meat each.

Why extra-spicy bloody mary's? BoozerBear has them for a mere 132 meat each, and they're the best 3 drunkenness drink, adventures wise, avaliable for a reasonable price.

If you're rich (or maybe just lucky), and have a Tiny Plastic Sword, drink 3 TPS drinks when you have liver of steel.

Buffs

Elemental Saucesphere (3 Meat to Testudinata for a shot a day)
Fat Leons Phat Loot Lyric (8 Meat to Testudinata for a shot a day)
Polka of Plenty (7 Meat to Testudinata for a shot a day)
Empathy of the Newt

You will soon get Amphibian Sympathy as well, it's a good passive.

--

Testudinatas Pricelist

We currently offer the following 'free' buffs:
Send 1 meat for 180 turns of Moxious Madrigal
Send 2 meat for 180 turns of Jalapeno Saucesphere
Send 3 meat for 180 turns of Polka of Plenty
Send 4 meat for 180 turns of Elemental Saucesphere
Send 5 meat for 180 turns of Jabanero Saucesphere
Send 6 meat for 180 turns of Fat Leon's Phat Loot Lyric
Send 7 meat for 180 turns of Empathy of the Newt
Send 8 meat for 15 turns of Ode to Booze

KolWiki is turning all stuff over to Coldfront

-
I know that a lot of people have been less than satisfied with the wiki's availability and performance of late. I thought I should try and address as much of the community as possible with this partial explanation.

Is it feasible to host kolwiki on a commercial server?

The short answer: Not with the money we have. We tried a reasonably-priced commercial service for a while. Ask around about the RSODs.

Our traffic, at peak times, can use most of the processing power on our dual-Xeon server. It can use damn near all of the RAM unless I keep the available processes and connections restricted. That's exactly the problem we had when we tried to host off-site, too: we only had enough money to be on a shared box, and a LOT of the time we were using so much of the CPU time that the server wouldn't load our pages. It would give red screens telling people that we were over our CPU load and that they should try again in a few minutes.

To Waikiki, Truant, Koobiak and Cadalano! :)

Send a Message to Testudinata with the appropriate amount of meat and you will get buffed with very good buffs that will help your adventuring.

-

You don't have to write anything, just give Testudiata the correct amount of meat and you will get the buff.

If you just want Ode to Booze for example (you have OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of good drinks), just give Testudinata 8 meat.

If you give 7 meant, your pet will be buffed with empathy of the Newt instead etc.

Any adventurer should get Ode to Booze, Empathy of Newt, Polka of Plenty and Fat Leons Phat loot to boost drinking, the pet.meat and drops!

Tip for all KoL-Players
-------------------------

Anticheese are cheap in the mall (100 meat or so).

Buy one Anticheese and a Bowl of Cottage cheese.

Combine these and use the Cottage (Inventory / Misc) and you will now be able to rest in a Cottage in your camp.

I have made multis to do all my sauce making, baking, and brewing, so if you guys have any food you want made, collect the ingredients for it and kmail it to Boardwalk with the order of what you want.

I'll make it all at no cost and send the completed stuff back to you. I can make all of the advanced drinks and foods, just make sure you include the scrumptious reagents, dry noodles, coconut shells, plastic umbrellas, or magical ice cubes as these are the harder items to get. I won't supply any missing ingredients!

The amount of stat gain you get from eating the correct chow mein is substantial, so it will really help to level up faster, and having a stock pile for when you ascend is essential.

I'm using chef-in-the-boxes and bartender-in-the-boxes to do this, so it doesn't cost me any turns. As long as I don't start blowing these up left and right I should be able to cover the costs.

So wait, how the hell do I get more adventures without getting so drunk I can't see? I can't find any food that I can buy, and I don't have enough meat to buy the cooking stuff.

When you start out you become falling over drunk at 15 drunkedness, so you want to stop at 14 before you start adventuring. When you complete the Fat Friar's quest, you gain liver of steel, and can drink up to 20, so 19 before becoming falling over drunk. So stop drinking at either 14 or 19 drunkedness depending on whether or not you have liver of steel. Then once you run out of adventures for the day, you can drink over your limit and the extra adventures will carry over next rollover.

You cannot consume over 15 fullness worth of food a day unless you have the stomach of steel, which is a skill learned if you ascend as a Teetotaler, which rasies this to 20. Fullness values are not reported in game but you can find them on the wiki.

You can start out just eating the items that you gain adventuring. (Knob Sausage, Cottage Cheese, Knob Mushrooms, etc.) However you always want to check the flea market before autoselling or eating items that might be valuable. (Knoll mushroom, Bat wings, Limes, Rat appendix)

For booze I recommend Salty Dogs unless you can make your own. They are very cheap in the mall (130 meat), which you can access at level 7, and provide a moderate number of adventures for 3 drunkedness. These also give mysticality substat gains.

For food, I recommend making or buying bean burritos to start out, you can sometimes find them in the mall for 250 meat a piece, for 3 fullness. You can make them extra spicy by combining them with spices. Recipe is flat dough + beans. (regular, enchanted, jumping beans make burritos that raise your muscle, mysticality, and moxie substats respectively) Obtain flat dough by using a rolling pin on a wad of dough.

I highly recommend browsing the KOL wiki which is now hosted at Coldfront, heres the link. You can find recipes, drop locations, and more strategy stuff here then you will ever need. Make sure to check out the "Safe Adventuring" article that tells you where you can adventure without getting hit based on your moxie.

What's your name in game Drolgin, ill give you some meat so you can buy an Oven and Cocktailcrafting kit and have some left over!

Here is a link to Chow Mein recipes and the substats they raise.

Chow mein substat gains make the lower levels go by very fast.

Again, beware when eating chow meins, eating the chow mein type for your main stat will give you fast levelling, BUT your other stats will be shot to hell. Being a level 5 muscle class wiht 6 moxie = getting hit a LOT. Instead try to eat the other types (being a muscle class, eat moxie, then you wont get hit as much), that you will benefit more from at the lower levels.
Or at least eat one of each, not 3 of the same, if its your main stat youre eating for.

Well, I'm also using 3 Mr. A's so I don't notice it as much. Without them I would probably agree!

I live off of Salty Dogs. Only 130 to buy one.

A good place to go for cash (when you get high enough in level) is the Treasury in Cobb's Knobb. Make sure you have a ten leafed clover in your inventory when you adventure in the Treasury though, because it will give you a chance to get a dense meat stack.

If you arent high enough for Cobb's Knobb.. i'd say just make sure you join a clan for the daily meat bonus and keep yourself buffed with Testudinata's stuff (go to read messages screen to send meat for the buffs, btw)

hang on to EVERYTHING. Things like bat wings can be obtained at low levels and are worth thousands of meat on the market (or you can use them for yourself later on). Look up everything on the wiki before you get rid of it

in other news.. i just discovered the spice loop today. Made a lot of really nice dishes and drinks with the extra spice. woohoo!

Many people do that, one or two chars for makin teh food and one main! :)

Reading kolwiki sure helps OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS for new players, since they get a better grasp on things.

If you want some Polka o Plenty or Phat Loot Lyrics, send Kwon a tell! :)

or any Bard-buffs really (Power Ballad of Arrowsmith helps new chars OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS).

On the Accordion Thief, i have pretty low Muscle, since i use the Boost Moxie, Moxie Magnet, Moxious Maneuver.

Moxie Magnet calculates Mojo Points from your Moxie stat instead of your Mysticality stat (which is pretty low), giving him a good Manapool so he can use Moxious Maneuvers.

Think i had 105 Moxie and around 30-40 Muscle when i started doing that.

The Accordion Thief is mainly a buffer tho, so if you need any Bard-buffs, write a mess or send a tell!

As soon as you have sent the application to the clan, a whole new world opens.

There is food and drink in the clan stash for example!

At lvl 5 you can use the Mall (search for what you need).

Until then, i'll send you some splendid drinks! And Bug Waikiki for the best food! He is an überchef! :)

OH and another thing, when you are closing in on lvl 9, make sure you read the leaflet-guide or you will miss out on a juicy bonus there.
