Deep Thoughts about Rock, Paper, Scissors....

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Deep Thoughts about Rock, Paper, Scissors....

Post by Ransure »

I understand that scissors can beat paper and I get how rock can beat scissors.

BUT THERE'S NO FUCKING WAY PAPER CAN BEAT ROCK.

Paper is supposed to magically wrap around rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college-ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, BECAUSE PAPER CAN'T BEAT ANYBODY, A ROCK WOULD TEAR THAT SHIT UP IN TWO SECONDS. When I play rock/paper/scissors I always choose rock. Then when someone claims to have beaten me with their paper, I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say "Oh shit I'm sorry, I thought paper would protect you."

were your deep thoughts triggered by last night's Survivor Panama premiere? I was thinking along those lines when they used that game to determine who's staying on exile island

because, if you wrapped scissors in paper, the scissors would close and cut the paper. When paper is wrapped around a rock, the rock can do nothing about it.

if you took a piece of paper and wrapped it around a fist sized rock, you could fold up the ends of the paper around the rock kind of like a sack, and then use this paper-rock combo as a more efficient weapon than either object would be alone

Yeah, my friends and I gave up on RPS a long time ago. Now we play much more awesome games like Cockroach, Nuclear Bomb, Shoe or Rock, Paper, Anything.
