... a party leader who:
- is 39 and was first elected to a state/provincial post at the age of 23
- is fiscally conservative
- is socially liberal
- admitted to using cocaine while in office
- is openly gay
Meet Andre Boisclair, the leader of the Parti Quebecois, or the seperatist party in Quebec.

When I look at the various facets, this guy seems like an enormous political gamble, but then again I don't live in Quebec or think Quebec has anything to gain by trying to seperate from Canada (except 3rd world status and a GDP lower than most central American countries). There are plenty of reformed alcoholics in all facets of public life, so aside from the fact that coke was and is an illegal drug (which in itself could be an issue in that this guy was willing to flout the law to obtain it), this raises some concern about his ability to handle pressure, but not an huge amount. The gay thing, well I don't want to think about what most politicians do in their bedrooms with their spouses/partners but I do see this as a potential liability in a leader who may need to woo more socially conservative people (i.e. many French are devout Catholics). His inexperience outside the legislative arena would probably be one of the most concerning things about this guy to me, although there are planty of career politicians all over the place.
All in all, I didn't follow the race too much but his election made me wonder are the Quebec seperatists taking a huge gamble to drum up support in the gay and youth demographics? Is this guy, with his collection of baggage the best they could do? It makes me wonder about the future of their movement, if thats the case.

the seperatist party is a bunch of fantasy morons. its a fantasy that the majority of quebec would vote to seperate and its an even grander fantasy that those whiney fucking frogs would last 11 days as a country without suckling like baby pigs at the federal teat. the whole goddam province is entirely dependent on federal welfare and special favortism and their primary exports are bellyaching and whining.
I wish every single goddam one of them would get cancer and die. fuck the whole french culture right in the ass. hey frenchy, you had a good run at trying to be an empire. YOU FAILED. now please quietly fucking die like every other respectable culture that is no longer relevant. that goes for you too, france.

Let them seperate. We'll come in and liberate them a week later

When did Midnyte hack into Kyou's account??
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
