WASHINGTON - U.S. intelligence officials say Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has expanded his terrorism campaign in Iraq to extremists in two dozen terror groups scattered across almost 40 countries, creating a network that rivals Osama bin Laden's.

In interviews, U.S. government officials said the threat to U.S. interests from al-Zarqawi compared with that from bin Laden, whom al-Zarqawi pledged his loyalty to one year ago.
So essentially, the threat of terrorism against the US has increased substantially during the war on terror. Anyone care to explain how this isn't a result of our invasion of Iraq?

Violence begets violence. We have created the perfect recruiting office for this guy.

I'm surprised you think there actually is an al-Zarqawi.

nobody's ever actually seen him but he is this mysterious al-queda operative (which clearly demonstrates a link betwen saddam hussein and osama bin laden and 9/11), who's numberless hordes of terrorists are killing honest christian US soldiers in Iraq.

Well the point is there is an increase in the number of people who hate the US or at least those actively involved in planning terrorist action against the US. The names are largely irrelevant to my point.

Osama Bin Laden, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, hell you can call them Bob if you like. They are just rumours of men who's actual existence is far less important than their function as a figurehead standing against the US.

Born in Jordan and runs a group considered by most to be competition with Bin Laden's Al Qaeda, he last year pledged loyalty to Bin Laden and quelled any talk of dissention among the resistance, though most feel he still 110% calls his own shots. Started out as a barely literate gangster in Jordan, like Bin Laden he led a large group of Freedom Fighters in Afganistan, after the withdrawl he returned to Jordan with a radical Islamic Agenda. This got him 7 years in prison as he tried to organize an overthrow of the Government. He fled and was tried in absentee. He appears to have fled to Germany and formed a group that was "especially for Jordanians who did not want to join al-Qaeda".

Whether he is still alive or not is questionable, but he definately existed and started a campaign against the West that was totally and completely seperate from Bin Laden.

Born in an Afgani Cave, and runs a group considered by most to be competition with Bin Laden's Al Qaeda, he last year pledged loyalty to Bill Gates and quelled any talk of dissention among the resistance, though most feel he still 110% calls his own shots. Started out as a barely literate gangster in Compton, like Bin Laden he led a large group of Freedom Fighters in Southside, after the withdrawl he returned to Compton with a radical Islamic Agenda. This got him 7 years in prison as he tried to organize an overthrow of the Government. He fled and was tried in absentee. He appears to have fled to Harlem and formed a group that was "especially for Harlemians who did not want to join al-Qaeda".

Looks like we now have a new #1 Leader planted RIGHT here in America.

Seriously tho, of all the shit our own government has done since WW2, I wouldn't put it past them to make up people to help keep the "Cause" going.I find it funny how no matter what, we always catch the " Right Hand Man" almost every other week. How many fucking right hand men can there be? This isn't Shiva they are attacking for fuck sakes.

Well, that's the funny part about the way they're selling this shit to 'teh people'.

It doesn't matter how many terrorists you kill, you just make more of them and even if you get a 'leader' there's always a leiutenant waiting to take his spot.

Every 5 year old knows you can't kill an ants nest w/ a pointed stick, but somehow the American people as a whole are too fucking stupid to realise the parallel here.
