Sometimes even scientists fail to understand science...

What do you think about the world?

You can't assert an untestable hypothesis and call it science...This guy needs to go back through Research Methods...I hope he's not advising on any dissertations :)...

You can call Intelligent Design a Theory...but not a Scientific theory...

Lehigh University is so in damage control mode...

the guy is actually a published scientist.

He doesn't run a powerhouse lab or anything (ie no Nature papers), but he at least has some research output. I was expecting nothing.

But yeah what Arbor said
"Creationism is a theological concept but intelligent design is a scientific theory," Behe said. "One can be a creationist without any physical evidence. That's 180 degrees different from intelligent design."
it is actually NOT a scientific theory. it's conjecture.

Well, he must also then be a proponent of Intelligent Design by the Flying Spaghetti Monster (since he specifically points out that Intelligent Design does not infer a specific god).

While nature is a VERY complex thing, it also had a VERY long time to do it. Unfortunately the basic premise behind ID (that nature is so complex it cannot be explained by any other way) is a horribly flawed argument. Just because we cannot explain it now does not mean that we will never explain it (see photoelectron effect, see DNA, see elemental theory of matter... etc. for examples of how what was once unexplained as being too "complex" is now nearly completely understood by the world).

Bah.

I wish I could remember who the theorist on religion was that said a new religion comes along every 2000 years as the dominant religious force.
like Babylon-Greek Myths-Christianity - ?
It was a really good paper, wish I had it handy to quote from it. I remember it had been brought up during the intelligent design debate and it almost flabbergasted the intelligent design/creationism guy.

I thought John Holmes had reincarnated as the Flying Spaghetti Monster :)
