Just curious what people's opinions are for the "best" hunter pvp build.
I do very little raiding and mostly PvP, and plan on keeping that way until I get to high warlord, so I am looking to get the best possible build going for this purpose.

I'm currently using a 32/19/0 BM/Marks build, and I can really tear things up. The main strategy is to make heavy use of the pet's damage and snipe from a distance, using concussive, wing clip, and intimidation to maintain distance. With this build maintaining your distance from the target is more important than firing a lot of shots- your pet is more than capable of killing things for you; you just need to stay alive and supplement that damage or heal when necessary.
Beast Mastery
Improved Aspect of the Hawk 5/5
Endurance Training 2/5
Thick Hide 3/3
Bestial Swiftness 1/1
Unleashed Fury 5/5
Improved Mend Pet 2/2
Ferocity 5/5
Intimidation 1/1
Bestial Discipline 2/2
Frenzy 5/5
Bestial Wrath 1/1
Marksmanship
Improved Concussive Shot 5/5
Efficiency 1/5
Lethal Shots 5/5
Aimed Shot 1/1
Hawk Eye 3/3
Mortal Shots 4/5
Another hunter PvP build a lot of people swear by is the 0/21/30 Survival/Marksmanship build. I don't know the specifics of it, however, so I can't really give any advice on it use or effectiveness.

A heavy BM spec followed by Hawk Eye/Mortal shots is infinately useful. Hunter BM is very powerful right now, to the point where your pet can solo cloth/leather wearers before Bestial Wrath wears off. Throw in a few aimed shots and such from a distance and the person is dead. The new intimidation is awesome: 3 sec unbreakable stun.
31/20 is the way to go, for sure. If I wasn't raiding so much, I would respec to this just because of how much it really owns in PVP.

I tried out a 31/20 BM/MM build when the patch gave a free respec. I had a lot of fun with it for awhile but I ended up respeccing to 21/30 for a few reasons.
One reason is that while your pet becomes very powerful it is still possible for people to just kill it and there goes half your dps as well as your only source of stun/cc in combat. Secondly I was finding that people were getting very good at avoiding the pet during BW, mages would just blink and run, druids and rogues would run as well and often if they were MC or better equiped they could avoid taking the full duration and survive.
The other main reason I respecced was for scattershot, counterattack and savage strikes. I was getting jumped a lot by rogues and warriors etc and with my pet off killing some cloth caster there really wasn't a whole lot I could do to stop them. Scattershot is basically a win vs cloth and leather as you can SS + devilsaur eye + aimed shot/multi and its over for them. Deflection and counterattack both let me survive a lot longer in melee than I could otherwise, and savage strikes means I can land 800+ raptor strikes on mages that try to deadzone me fairly regularly.
I generally run in a 5-10 man guild group for PvP so I found MM/Surv more group PvP friendly where BM was very powerful in a 1v1 to the point where it was basically a automatic win if intim/BW were up.

You can't hibernate a pet when it is in beastial wrath, only thing I know of that works is blind but that is probably unintentional. Oh and if you CC the pet and the hunter hits BW, it removes the CC already on them and makes it immune for the 15 seconds as well.
Also, if the hunter gets improved mend pet they have up to a 50% chance of cleansing the pet when using it. When I was BM specced I had rank 1 mend pet up all the time to clear hibernate/frost nova etc. Although with the new pet resists it is a lot less common to have your pet be CC'd.
