BlizzCon

Post by Sargeras »

I was curious if anyone from VV was going to BlizzCon? I purchased my ticket (the $85 one) this morning. I'm going with Dolby, and besides the event, we're going to Disneyland on Sunday.

You can probably hit on some MILF's bringing their spoiled kids to the event.

Have no urge to go sadly. I don't have the sense of community that was there in EQ. I think the quality of person in WoW is a little less than in EQ, more mature type in general was attracted to EQ. Of course, it could just be that I'm older and more jaded now than when I played EQ.

I'm going because I need a break, to meet up with friends and have a good time. I'm also going because I want apply at Blizzard when I graduate. I figured it would give me the opportunity to meet some people and get some networking. I figured BlizzCon would be a nice place to do all those. Sigil is another place I want to apply to, as well as some other places in So Cal.

Apparantly they are going to have the Offspring play there.

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... ost5048214
Blizzard is proud to announce that the closing-night concert at BlizzCon will feature multi-platinum recording artists The Offspring! The band established itself internationally with the hit singles "Come Out and Play (Keep 'Em Separated)," "Self Esteem," and "Gotta Get Away" from their 1994 album Smash, which went on to become the most successful independent release of all time. Most recently, The Offspring released Greatest Hits, a career-spanning compilation of their most memorable songs.

We look forward to putting on a great two-day show for the thousands of gamers and journalists attending BlizzCon, and we're excited that The Offspring will help us end with a bang. Visit the BlizzCon site to learn more about the event, scheduled for October 28 and 29 in Anaheim, CA, and check out the press release for more information about the closing-night The Offspring concert:

Dont bother reading the thread, just filled with a bunch of responses from these 3 categories.
1. Offspring sucks! Why didnt you pick X
2. Great!
3. Complaining about the complainers

Damn, I bet a guy with a large bottle of Ritalin could make a fortune selling it to all those beleagured single moms. Negotiable means of payment based on hotness!

But horde characters are butt ugleeee. I have a few horde alts in a couple of other servers, but nothing really serious, hard to put lots of hours into a character that looks so bad :(

People using this excuse to play Alliance is half the reason I won't. Part of the other half is because they have paladins. The only thing I like about them is watching them die. :) POWER.

Oh that's rich. I don't mine being shallow every once in awhile, but I certainly wouldn't pay for it, live it 20+ hours a week, and then proclaim its greatness here unless I was joking. We have something in common though somewhat - you enjoy playing a crappy class that looks good, and I enjoy eating the resultant corpses.

There's nothing wrong with caring how your character looks. I'd sacrifice a few stats here and there for Winnow to look good in the early EQ years before the lame ass changes that made everyone look like clones except for dye colors.

The original class armor quests were fun! Totemic!

A well played paladin is a sight to behold. A poorly played paladin is a slot that a warrior or rogue could have better filled.

I was commenting on choosing a side based on looks. I acually like some of the alliance races, but my opinions are drawn more from a race's flavor than how visually appealing they are.

Paladins...well, I am aware that a decently played Paladin is neato, but most of the ones I run into don't fall into that category. So far the only computer game I've enjoyed playing a Pally in is Diablo 2, unfortunately.

You can bet your ass that I'll be leveling one to improve my mangina. There is nothing wrong with the toon you stare at for hours nightly looking hot.
