I missed the first episode of law and order SVU and I'm not happy about it.

I love the Pirate Bay for their legal threats section.

Remember kids, the bigger the site, the more likely the goonsquad will show up at your door.

Can you actually get in trouble for downloading regular TV shows?

I know I download a few shows because I moved away to college even though I could technically just wait and watch them at my parents place since they are being recorded automatically.

Point being, if it's not a PPV show what basis can you get in trouble for?

People are actually afraid of getting into trouble downloading things?

Damn :( Poor buggers.

On a side note, that legal threats section on Pirate Bay is hilarious!

most of the people who post torrents and to newsgroups graciously remove the commercials... these versions are illegal. dvr systems like tivo get away with recording shows because they leave the commercials in, as i understand it. with a dvr, it's essentially 'time shifting' so you're seeing the same exact thing but whenever you want.

Instead of screaming law sections they should adjust to the viewers. A global internet service that release tv-Shows for a reasonable amount of money is probably pretty profitable, and of course you'll still have the pirated files, but I believe you'll get a lot of subscriptions - iTunes. Why do they not make this a reality?
I would pay for to have a legal and stable flow of my desired shows. (Swedish television is awful).
