Suggestions?

I am looking to create an alt to play with a friend of mine who plays very casually.

I am mainly trying to decide between a shaman or a rogue.

Basically what it boils down to is this. He is a mage, around level 20ish, and I will basically play this character up to his level and only play it when he is on.

I need to know which is better for solo at the very low levels for me to catch up to him. Obviously a shaman would be better in the sense that I could heal, but like I said, I will be soloing to level 20 or 25, and want to take the one that I can do that the quickest with.

In the threads I have read here in this forum I heard rogues can really depend on equipment. I will definately be keeping my alt in the best equip he can have at his level.

Anyhow, enough rambling. Any suggestions ?

Rogue / mage duo doesn't really make much sense imo. Shaman on the other hand means you can AE grind once you catch up in levels and he has level 2 arcane explosion, maybe level 3 I don't remember.

Also, at that level I don't think you are going to see much difference in leveling speed at that low a level, and once you can AE grind it'll be about the best XP you can get. Also any money you would be spending twinking a character pre 20 would be pretty much a waste anyway so I wouldn't worry about gear at that point..

Having a Shaman I'd say go with that, it is a Breeze leveling and Lots of Fun, if you go Enhancement/Restoration there won't be too much you and you're friend can't take out..... as long as you use Rockbiter wep enhance and your friend don't go Nuts on the Casting you will hold Aggro Nicely.

Shaman's are a breeze to level to 20 and do a lot of damage. I've pretty much soloed with Marb the entire time.
