There is kind of a funny story surrounding this current release. I just thought it was rather interesting and figured only VV movie geeks like myself could appreciate the nature of this controversy
All the previous seasons followed a particular format. The 6th season comes with an entirely new package design. It is a plastic head in the shape of Homer's head. The problem is the packaging is very flimsy, dosen't stand up on it's edge due to a hinge on the bottom, and it's different than the previous 5 releases. This has divided fans of the show and it's really exposing the seedy underbelly of crazed collectors and fans. If you read the reviews on Amazon, some of the fans are screaming bloody murder.

Well, Fox has come up with an interesting solution. Included in the boxed head is a little coupon "For all those that fear change..." that gives you a phone # to call. The phone number gives you a web address, and the customer can send off for a box exactely like the others (for $2.95 s/h of course). The funny part is the whole process is rather condecending towards anyone who wants to send out for the new box. The phone call and even the website make it seem like you're really being a nerdy pain in the ass. I think the whole thing is kinda odd, but I still see the humor. Anyway, people still continue to bitch and moan like no tomarrow and, as a collector I think it's all pretty interesting and just thought I would share for the sake of sharing.
Oh yeah, here's the actual site: http://www.simpsonsbox.com/

Good season and I suggest picking it up this week due to the sale price of $23.99. Just like all boxed sets, the initial release is always the best price!
