Random NYC Pics

Post by Canelek »

I just got back from NY/NJ....was training there for 2 weeks and had some moments to try out my new camera. Obviously, I still need to RTFM, but it is nice having a digital cam finally.

The only pic I am bummed about is the one of me and this really great chick I met while there...we had some random person take our picture, but it didn't turn out right and we got all blurry. :( I should have checked it, but oh well... Luckily, I made a new friend and the only regret I have is that she lives over there so I do not get to see her for a while. =/

Anyways, random shots inc....

Image
Merrill Lynch offices, Jersey City (where I was working...home of random tech-monkeys)

Image
Cool statue in JC...

Image
From across the pristine waters of the Hudson... ;)

Image
Gramercy(sp) Park birdhouse thingy...was neat to hear crickets in NY!

Image
Some bar near Chelsea that Alexandria and I went to...

Image
Horseless Carriages....

Image
Alexandria's 'oh-so-rebelious' henna tat...cute Russian girl kept fucking up so we gave her a good tip so her pimp would not beat her too badly....

Image
Loved this...

Image
Nothing crazy here, just enjoyed seeing honesty in advertising.....

Image
Wish I would have had another shot taken...was a cute picture, despite the heap of NY garbage piled in BG...was blurry as all fuck, but I won't delete, just because it was a nice moment. :)

edit: Oh yeah, we took several trains(we were quite drunk) to Atlantic City, but I did not bring camera... we probably saw more of Jersey than most people would like to see... there are many hookers in Jersey--almost as many as there are bogs.

PS: such a pale imitation of Vegas....

Yeah, NY is a pretty damn fun place once you figure out how to get around on the subways! I look forward to visiting again. :) I will give AC a pass though! :P

Great pics,

I was there last weekend on business. I took two contractors to NY and we watched a Broadway show, visited the World Trade Center, walked all over town. Then went to Yankee Stadium to see the Angels and Yanks play. That was a dream for me since I like the Angels and have loved the Yankees since I was a kid. If I had a way to host I would post pics as well. We were second row behind the Yankees dugout.

Glad you had fun, it is an amazing town.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

What digicam did you buy?

The flash in your ts.jpg (the jon lennon blueish pic) seems to be ultra powerful. Damn that pic is hella lit up ! Was it a spotlight?

Canno do you work for ML? I almost did a deal with some of those guys on one of your internal systems a couple of years ago. All the guys I worked with sounded like they could have been in the mafia, great bunch of guys. Was going to get to go spend some time with them in NY & NJ but the deal fell through. I bet I know some of the guys you were with, let me know if you do and I'll send you some names :)

Yeah Marb, I started work for ML on 7/5. I am officed at Wilshire Credit in Beaverton, OR. My job is to get the WCC data infrastructure in line with ML auditing policy. Most of the guys I met were tech people, as I never got a chance to visit HQ in Manhattan. Either way, it is a bit odd to leave a company of 30 or so people to work for one of 50K+.

How bout that Addidas + Reebok deal? ML handled the account. GO GO MEGABANK! ;)

PS: Kill, no I did not hit it...in golf terms, I had a decent lie, then my fairway shot missed both bunker and green and ended up on the blue-ball tee 3 fairways over. :P I am a sucker for chicks with green eyes. :) Ah well, she had mentioned that she wanted to go dune-jumping in OR on ATVs, so....

Nice pics. Too bad we couldn't catch up, it's been pure busy for me these past few weeks.

I've actually never been in the Art Deco building before, looks really nice from the outside whenever i've driven past it. You were working pretty close to my wife's office at Harborside 2.

AC is pretty cool if you like to gamble but there's really no juice from a party atmosphere. You should have seen it even a couple of years ago before they built up the bus depot, definitely was not a safe place to be. It's pretty nice having the ocean though and the blackjack rules are pretty favorable in certain casinos.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. It seems like you were able to take in quite a bit in such a short time.

Meh, Alessandra is moving back to ATL, but she is going to come visit me next month. :D:D:D I was looking forward to having a nice girl to hang out with when I visit NY, but airfare is so much better from ATL to PDX, so it should work pretty well. Hotdamn, I dig her and she is much easier to deal with than the last couple of gals I have dated.

How about this:

Bed und Breakfast in Astoria (Goonies, yeah)
Camping near Bend (Mt Bachelor)
Wine tasting in WA
Hot kinky sex in some cheap motel near Troutdale *

* - Sirensa, Where is the name of that motel that Sylvos always takes you to? :P

...damn, it will be nice to have a vacation.

PS: Chid - I will drop you a line next time I head out to NY. I really look forward to spending more time out there since I can sort of find my way around now.
