Ah crap, I could have sword the draft was on Sept 10th.

Aug 13th is the same day I'll be in Reno for my FF draft. Is the other league drafting a different day? I'd like to switch leagues if possible. I don't want to miss the live draft.

I'll probably be golfing when this draft takes place.

Back in June I had to change the date of the draft because I had originally set it for after the first week of the season. I posted it here and on the League board. I think Masteen set his league up for the same day. Don't worry man, I am sure Yahoo will pick you a really nice kicker in the first round.

Damn! I'm going to get stuck with Thomas friggin Jones!

I'll make my list out but that's such a handicap. I guess you guys will have a chance this year vs Teh Wunderlics!

Because we kinda fucked up picking the draft date early on, when we went back to change it, the only options were like the Tuesday or Wednesday before the season at 2PM EST.

The leagues are not won or lost on draft day. They are won or lost in the first 2 weeks on the waiver wire.

You guys do know of course that Peyton is going to break his leg or something within the first 2 weeks right?

No, but now I have to spend a lot more time putting people in my "do not draft" list.

Autopicking can't replace the satisfaction of grabbing a player right before someone else that needs them in the draft and then mocking them.

No. Yahoo autopicked him for me last year when my connection locked up. He had decent yardage rushing but the Bears suck and do not ever score. Let me say it now that I will never have a member of the Bears on my team again.

Nice. I forgot about NFL Ticket televising all or most of the pre season games. I'll have to start checking that channel.

Packer Family Night was a blast but my daughter really didn't like the fireworks. They were scarey.

I really have no clue as to who I am going to pick first in my draft.

I completed an initial ranking of players this weekend just so I wouldn't forget before leaving for Reno.

To me, the choice is clear. Bubba Franks is going to have a monster year and should be any Packer Fan's first choice.

I was too busy studying the group of RBs in the 8-16 rank range. Some tough calls there.

I hope the computer picks some decent backups as drafting this early allows for key injuries even before the first game is played.

Last year I ran a few simulated seasons on both Madden05 and ESPN 2K5 to see how some of my potential picks fared. It only takes a minute or two to simulate every game for the entire season. You can't go by the results but it's interesting anyway.

I am posting the settings for the NFC League. If Masteen reads this I ask that you do the same for the AFC so we can see if there are any discrepancies between the two. Also for the NFC I plan on randomizing the order of the draft about 30 mintues to an hour before the draft. Plan accordingly.

EDIT: Note we are not changing the settings from this other than to ensure they match.

I have him ranked just ahead of Michael Vick!

I don't know how my draft will turn out. I placed like 3/4's of the players on the exclusion list in an attempt to get the players I want. I'm hoping for the last pick in the first round for my drafting strategy to work!

Who will be the sucker to draft Vick this year? Who is taking the leap and drafting Fred Taylor's groin?

Crap, I have commitments tomorrow and probably won't make the draft. I guess it is autopick for me. Last year it locked up on me before I could even get in the draft and the autopicks won it all, we shall see about this year.

Good luck everyone
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Masteen....the settings do not match. NFC has 1 point per completion and -.5 per incompletion.
