I voted no, though I think that I have a shotgun at my dad's house that my uncle got me a long time ago, I may have shot it once.
I'm directly in the middle, and I lean away from whichever side seems stupidest at the time. Usually, around here, that's the right.

Yes, classical conservative.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
Dwight Eisenhower

No, liberal I guess. I would never own one either as hunting doesn't appeal to me and I really wouldn't want a firearm anywhere near my household once our family begins being raised.
It's interesting though, my father and father's father used to hunt quite a bit (but they really preferred to fish more than anything else) while my mother's father pretty much gave up anything to do with guns after he survived D-day through the Bulge. Oddly, it was my grandmother who felt he shouldn't try and re-live it in any way shape or form yet there was no real animosity towards the actual ownership of a gun on his part. The fam as a whole is pretty much liberal across the board which was the original question. But everyone prior to my generation has possessed a gun at home up until the current one.

Yes, several. Moderate with right leanings.
Wife is conservative and hated guns. The odd thing is that she actually feels better now knowing that I have a .357 in the nightstand and know how to use it. I guess with as crazy as the world is today you have to protect yourself.
btw....Noel just earned a sig quote!

No, and even if the danish gun laws were as screwed as the US ones, i wouldnt own one.
And guess im liberal pussy here, although my parents were members of the Danish Communist Party
And yes, that didnt stop me from being able to travel to the US twice now.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have actually had people come into your house at night and steal your stuff or assault your family?
Never once happened to me and I am meant to live in a war zone (in the minds of some of you).

Two young gentlemen rang the doorbell to my house Thanksgiving night, 1976. When i answered the door, the pushed through the door and hit me in the side of the head with a .25 automatic. They proceeded to beat and rob me and my Dad, and once almost shot my Dad in the head. Had a terry cloth robe belt tied around his hands, behind his back, up around his neck making it very difficult for him to breathe. One of those cowardly assholes grabbed him by the hair, pulled his head back as far as he could, stuck the gun in his eye and said "You don't think I'll shoot, do you old man?" and proceeded to turn the pistol towards the floor and pull the trigger. My Dad suffered gunpowder burns on his temple and forehead.Just out of curiosity, how many of you have actually had people come into your house at night and steal your stuff or assult your family?
Then it got real fun. While one of them held a knife to my throat the other one proceeded to kick the living shit out of my Dad. He kicked so hard, so many times that it left welts in the shape of circles on my Dad's face and neck from teh bottom of his converse fucking tennis shoes.
At the time, we had shotguns and a couple of rifles in the house but they were purely for hunting and kept locked up at all times.
I was sixteen at the time. I still don't sleep without a light on somewhere so that the door to my room is backlit and a pistol close by. I've never come close to endangering any member of my family, including 3 kids who have been through the teen-age years and tried to sneak in and out.
So yeah. I have been in a position where I needed a handgun for protection and wish I had one back then.
I think this poll has proven absolutely nothing.
Chalk one up for Miir, no obvious slant to the right for gun ownership so the lefties not being armed appears to be a false steroetype.
However!!
Is this behavior exclusive to those liberals that play MMORPGS? Hrm? Hrm?
Going back into the think tank.

When I stopped Deer hunting I sold my guns to a local crack dealer.

Its not just about protecting yourself. I'm sure some people have guns for hunting. At least, thats why I am getting one.Nick wrote:Just out of curiosity, how many of you have actually had people come into your house at night and steal your stuff or assault your family?

I'm sleeping
And right in the middle of a good dream
When all at once I wake up
From something that keeps knockin' at my brain.
Before I go insane
I hold my pillow to my head
And spring up in my bed
Screaming out the words I dread:
"I think I love you!"
This morning
I woke up with this feeling
I didn't know how to deal with
And so I just decided to myself
I'd hide it to myself and never talk about it
And didn't I go and shout it
When you walked into the room.
"I think I love you!"
I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for.
I think I love you.
Isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
That I've never felt this way.
wwwwhhhh
I don't know what I'm up against.
I don't know what it's all about.
I got so much to think about.
Hey, I think I love you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of
A love there is no cure for.
I think I love you.
Isn't that what life is made of?
Though it worries me to say
That I've never felt this way.
Believe me,
You really don't have to worry.
I only want to make you happy
And if you say,
"Hey, go away," I will
But I think better still,
I'd better stay around and love you.
Do you think I have a case?
Let me ask you to your face:
Do you think you love me?
I think I love you.
I think I love you.
I think I love you.
I think I love you.
I think I love you.
