Major Earthquake: "I am Ready to Create Havoc in the NW

PORTLAND, Ore. - Scientists are urging city planners and emergency services to get ready for the Big One.

They say an earthquake of magnitude 9.0 or greater is overdue for the Northwest, and that the area is not prepared for the aftermath of such a powerful temblor.

Using geological records and historical data, scientists estimate that a huge quake hits the area every 500 years or so. They added that the last big quake on the fault line was over 500 years ago.
I would like to see these records. Yeah, 500 years is a good amount of time for pressure to build, but I don't buy a regular occurrence. If we do get a big one here, it will fuck some shit up.

They also think Ranier is overdue in blowing its top.

Earthquakes, Volcanos, cats and dogs living together. Sounds like the end of the world for the seattle area

And lets not forget about Yellowstone. They say that eruption window is coming into range. Of course, thats got a 50,000 year window.

Actually, I think that we're at the far end of that Yellowstone window without having had the eruption. Which usually means that when it does pop, it'll be HUGE.

All we need now is an off-course comet or large asteroid. :D

However, St. Helens looks quiet today.

Yeah, Yellowstone will have a monster eruption. I just hope the wind is blowing east!
