I went to see this movie with absolutely zero knowledge of what it would be about. I knew some of the actors who were starring in it; Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillipe...
This is a powerful, gut-wrenching movie about modern race-relations. I loved it. It's a smart movie that makes you think about racial stereotypes. I highly recommend it.
Also, Ludacris was in it, and he was fantastic.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Friend of mine watched it yesterday and gave it two thumbs up as well. Anybody else seen it? Don't have much time lately so want to make sure the movies I go to are actually really good..
I hear this is fucking brilliant. I can't wait to see it.

...rappers can spit out lyrics with speed and accuracy...once you've got that it can't be too hard to remember and deliver some dialogue in a movie...the confidence and showmanshipadds adds drama and/or comedy to the delivery of those lines...

Mos Def has actually been in a quite a few movies. The Italian Job is the only other one I can think of off the top of my head. But I think he is actually a great actor.
Seeing Ja Rule get shot in Assualt on Precinct 13 was just about the best part of that movie. I kept rewinding it over and over. God I can't stand that guy!

I don't like him either, I may have to watch that movie just to see that scene.
Hardly jawdropping, but certainly a decent rental. I really enjoyed the performances by Cheadle, Bullock and Dillon--they showed excellent range.
Though this was not quite as good as 'Do the right Thing' in the racial tensions sub-sub genre, it did tell a good story and I am happy to recommend it to those that ask.
Well deserved. Any movie that can keep me and my smartass friends silent for more than an hour deserves recognition.
