HELP!!!
I had to re-do my computer and I have lost the installation cd for my Audigy 2 sound card. Creative Labs are a bunch of fucking assholes not allowing a person to just install off of a downloaded driver from their site like every other manufacturer.
Can someone with an Audigy 2 Installation CD, create an image and host it for me to download? Please?

I have an Audigy 2, but I dunno how to do what you asked. I have the CD, so if you can gimme details, I'll try my best to help you out. I know how to host stuff but other than that and EQ I'm a computer newbie. I have SB Audigy 2 DS Audio [DCC0]...that what you have? Just gimme instructions and I'll do what I can.

Surely you can read? I stated in my first post how CLabs is the only one I know who doesn't allow you to just install drivers form the net, you have to have the CD for the first install, then after that you can do patches, etc.
If you search the net, you will find thousands of forums discussions about this very thing.

That link doesn't work and it is the same thing that comes from CLabs site. I need a CD Image of the Audigy 2 CD.
Lynnsie,
I have never done that myself. I know you need to turn the CD into an .bin and .cue. If you bring up your CD burning software you should see an option to burn an image. I'm not the best person to explain this though. Thanks though Lynnsie. I will probably end up going to Best Buy and buying one, using the CD, and returning it.

Oh really? Cause it took me all of 2 minutes to find this link to the driver for the Audigy 2 card that I myself have.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Surely you can read? I realize it says it's a patch and an update, but it's also the complete driver. The only thing it doesn't install is the humungous array of gay software I didn't want anyway.
So yes, it looks like Kyoukan can read just fine.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Noel,
format your hard drive and install Windows. Then try to get your audigy 2 to work without the CD, then come talk to me.
I have gone to CCity and bought a new card, installed the drivers and will be returning it in a few minutes. Thanks anyway. Thank yoou for showing what hate filled fucking assholes you can be.
Edit: In addition... you cannot read either it seems. I never said there wasn't a fuckton of full drivers available, I sated it won't fucking work. The initial install requires a CD.

I do it every goddamn time I reinstall my PC. I have no fucking idea where my original Audigy disks are. I don't need to, because I can download the drivers from their web site.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Noel,

Well I wish I was as smart as you are. But, I donloaded and atempted to install over a dozen different drivers, patches, etc. from websites all over the fucking world and got no where, becasue they all told me the setup didn't find necessary components and that setup will not exit. It wanted a CD.
Like I said I am not the only one. There are tons a forum threads discussing this exact thing.

usually the problem stems from having a OEM audigy card.
creative does suck... but it's because they have 100 different sound cards named Audigy 2... and theres 99 drivers for it that say you don't even have a creative sound card installed... eventually ya can find the right one...
but the Windows XP SP1 integrated CD I use now has my sound card support included.

I find it fitting how you sign your replys with "Moron".kyoukan wrote:I'm not Noel but I did just that last month.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Noel,

Moron.
Anyhow I have spoken to someone who writes installation programs for IBM, he said it has to do with .ini files and some motherboard/sound card mixtures make it so the downloadable driver installs won't work, but the CD one will because it forces the computer to do something. He knew what he was talking about, I just couldn't grasp the high-tech verbage
Nice talking to you two assholes as usual. Negativity breeds negativity doesn't it?

Actually, I tried to help you. I posted a link where you can download the drivers. I reinstalled both of my desktops around 2 months ago, I installed the audigy drivers from the Internet, AND YET, you claim I have no idea what I'm talking about. Which makes YOU the asshole, as usual.
That said, when I read HELP!!!! I assumed there was something actually wrong, not that you couldn't find a sound card driver.

Welcome to the internet, Midnyte.
Tip 1: Don't post HELP!!! as the subect of every thread; it makes you look a bigger ignorant cunt than you are.
Tip 2: In said, "help" threads, thank those that are attempting to help you, ignore the rest; people aren't comfortable coming to the aid of beligerant fuckwits.
Tip 3: Have one of your kids read your posts before you send them; most small kids only make these mistakes once.

Actually if you don't have the CD for many of the SB cards they do not have a driver you can download and run. There are patches that are released after you have installed the driver.
My tech at work has run into the same problem Mid has and hes the only other person I would let touch my computer besides me to work on it.

THEY AREN'T THERE I WAS TALKING TO A TECH AT IBM AND THE FUCKING CEO OF CREATIVE LABS AND THEY SAID SO OH MY FUCKING SWEET LORD I AM SO STUPID.
jesus fucking christ tell me what sound card you have and I will download the drivers and put them on my own fucking webspace just to make you look like an even bigger idiot.

Ty Ramseis. Nice to hear someone confirm what I know is true, instead of just hearing this crap from the people who already hate me therefore think they know everything.
From my experience it definitely seems like that is the case with SB. However as I have rebuilt my computers numerous time and built many for friends and relitaves I can tell you that yes you can get those drivers. You have to extract them into a folder then tell windows where they are but it will work but will NOT give you all the different sound fonts etc... only the base. I did this myself only a few weeks ago.
That being said I will note that the first time I had to rebuild a computer for someone and didn't have the disk I truly thought I was in the same boat. After reading what the 20 or 30 downloadable files were at CL I finally realized that one actually contained the driver. Now I know what to look for but the first time it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
So yes it can be done but I don't fault ya to posting Mid, it's not like the vendor wanted to make it easy or anything.
Marb
PS - Ram, if your tech friend can't find them then he needs to go back and look some more, they are there. If he is truly a tech guy he will be able to figure it out. Of course if you have the CDs though, why do it right?
