Sounds like Jon is lookin' for a little bit of hot threesome action!

ok. great. now I have to go scrub my brain with rubbing alcohol. oh god, GET THE EVIL OUT.

Seriously tho, a bit strange. I mean, if you're going out on a "date", a third wheel is usually a no-no male or female. As for going into a lingerie shop and coming out with something for the other female... well, at least don't tell your significant other about it unless your ass wants a good bruising.

The second part of it is a bit odd. I mean, I guess if you wanted them to be friends for whatever reason. Maybe the girl has no friends, or she just moved there etc etc. He might just be trying to introduce her to another girl so that they can go hang out and do girl things and meet some of her friends.

As far as the shopping thing goes. I have gone out before with another girl to look for gifts for my girlfriend (sometimes guys need help!). I haven't ever bought my friend any gifts, but if we go out to lunch then you can be sure I'll pick up the tab. Or at least a thank you card or something.

Gah! What kinda garbbled explanation is that. You have two like named variables pointing to two completely different objects!

Translation:

(In plain english: Man + Woman have plans for dinner & movie on Friday night. Man tells woman that he is bringing home a bitch to come to dinner. Woman gets annoyed)

And in answer, depends how long you've been together.

If dinner and a movie is still a prelude to groping each other in a dark cinema followed by a rush home for teh hot sex, then sure, it's strange.

If it means you get to watch a movie without eating that shit they sell you at the concession stand because you're sated from the earlier meal and you're just as likely to pick up a few groceries before going home, watching a little TV, taking a bath and perhaps putting up with him pawing you before sleep, then no, perfectly ok and you're just being irrational.

So, does Sirensa lie about her age or is she really 18? In which case, John, all your problems are your own! :)

I could not disagree more, a diamond is not a diamond go to http://www.amgad.com for nice colored or http://www.adiamor.com for whites, the difference between a diamond with a good and excellent cut for example will effect the sparkle easily to the naked eye, don't get me going about once you get into visual inclusions. a half carat, e color, vvs1 with very good on cut color and symmetry will blow the doors off a full carat of substandard stats to the naked eye.[/quote]
Congrats on your engagement Noel!

You missed my point Pherr. A diamond is a diamond in that you can get an entire range of qualities no matter what store you go to.... and Costco will gladly oblige your requirements. TRUST me when I say I know about the 4 C's and had set standards as to what I wanted my engagement ring to be. ;)

Hayley no, not at all. It was more of a reference to this quote:

yes and a car is just four wheels hooked up to an engine.

a diamond is most assuredly not just compacted carbon. otherwise the crap glued to the edge of a bandsaw would be as valuable as the one on my engagement ring. size and purity come into account, as well as the conditions it was formed in can give it more facets or even a different color. you also have to take into consideration the quality of the cut.

diamonds are, however, extremely overvalued. you cant thank DeBeers for that.

I didn't miss it...although it did take me a while to figure out your misplaced anger (really directed toward Noel). It's probably best not to use as an example someone who says their age is 15 when it's clearly unrealistic as a good bit of the posters here know, for a fact, otherwise. It's a little different than saying you're in your mid 30s when you're really 40. A lie is a lie however, whether realistic or not and we all have our insecurities about something....there's nothing wrong with that. Acknowledge it and move on.

That ring there, with a half carat like this

A perfect half carat in a tension setting... stunning!

Edit to add: Probably about $4750 too

lol ok that confused me for a minute.

For the record, I never put in the year of my birth on the profile, so I'm not sure why it defaulted to 1987 which made me 18. Never even noticed until it was pointed out.

I don't lie about my age, though I'm getting old enough for it to be tempting :D

the best diamonds being taken out of the ground right now are coming from canada though, and synthetic diamonds. for some reason people aren't taking to synthetic diamonds however, even though the quality and color of the stone is much much nicer than 99.9% of the stuff being mined.

that's an interesting thing.

Don't mention that to Laliana, she'll deny what you say is true. I mentioned this to her months ago, even linked her to a URL that said exactly what you've just posted, and she wouldn't accept it at all.

For the record, the diamond is GIA certified, has been independently appraised (and insured), and is a very nice diamond/ring. I'm well aware of the 4 Cs, and my girl got a good ring. Personally, I'm kind of a name brand guy. I didn't even know that Costco sold diamonds. She's more frugal than I am and she's the one that suggested we get the engagement ring there. The ring looks great, and everyone who's seen it has said as much.

I don't feel the need to explain myself at all, but for any guys out there, who like me have been enjoying being a bachelor, and spending money like it's going out of style for the last 11 years and don't have a lot of cash to buy a ring with, Costco is an option worth considering. Don't be put off by an opinionated woman who thinks the only diamonds in the world are delivered directly from god into a little blue Tiffany's box. As long as your girlfriend/fiancee is happy, and you're happy, fuck what anyone else thinks.
