The Dukes of Hazzard

Post by Animalor »

Saw this linked on pvponline this morning.

I'm usually not a fan of Jessica Simpson and her acting is usually atrocious, although I'm pretty sure she didn't get this part for her acting skills...

I absolutely hate remakes like this, but I have to admit the trailer looked like it has a pretty fun cast. Damn, Mrs. Simpson looks fucking hot as hell.

No Confederate flag? I guess they won't call it the General Lee then, either. General dismay then for all the Hazard fans out there.

Actually I rewatched and saw edges of the flag on the car so it looks like it is there.

Personally i think rednecks are bad enough WITHOUT making movies about them.
Think about how much the money used to make this movie could have improved schools in the south. I mean, some of the kids might even have learned to read if they had spend the cash on a better school system :)

Daisy wanst blonde

Boss Hog wasnt tall or that slilm

And Bo and Luke were attractive, these guys are not. This is just garbage. Id rather see the original cast in their old glory than these people

Uncle Jesse is about as close as they can get but still not the same

Worse than Catwoman? I highly doubt that's possible. It looks like a fun movie in a mindless entertainment sorta way. I think it will do ok in the theatres. Burt Reynolds and Willie Nelson... Can't miss!

I predict Jessica Simpson will be the worst part of this movie. That accent of hers in the trailer was pretty bad.

Hmm, do i really need to remind people about Burt Reynolds role as Congressman David Dilbeck in Striptease. So yes, a BR movie can go bad too.

Do we really need to remind you of this concept called "obvious sarcasm"?

I don't get why people like those confederate flag window graphics so much, you know, the kind you see in the back window of pickup trucks.

Kyou's right, it is a pretty big reminder of slavery...

My friend wanted one for his truck because "they look cool"

I told him he was stupid.

I'm guessing it's there because it was part of the original character (car) not because whitey wanted to kick sand in the black man's face.

But as to it 'working' without it there I'm sure most people probably wouldn't notice except those who were familiar with the show growing up.

I don't think that's the case. It's modernized and I'm fairly certain they are wanting to attract an audience greater than the already established fans.

Not really as entertaining, mindless or otherwise, as I thought it would be. Certainly better than Catwoman though.

4/10!
