Xbox: refurb? new? if refurb where?

OK, I looked through the other threads in this forum and still need a bit of advice regarding getting an Xbox.

First, I've decided on Xbox solely because of DOAX This console will plop into our home entertainment center and never move after being integrated innto the home theatre and TV.

My question is, should I consider a refurbished unit? If so, where should I get it? Gamestop seems like no bargain at $129 plus shipping and sales tax...any other/cheaper online sources for refurb Xboxen?

You probably can't get them too much cheaper because the older the X-Box, the easier they are to hack so there's a nice market for used X-Boxes.

i had to return my refurb xbox 3 times (under the extended warranty i bought for it) before it finally worked right, others had no problem.

should just get a used system...i believe gamestop has a 90day guarantee no extra charge on all used systems

and for like 10 bucks on used systems you can get a year on top of that...i'm not 100% on that but worth checking in to

if you wait till mid/end of may there will more than likely be a price drop on brand new xboxes...possibly as low as the $100 range

generally price drops are announced during the Electronics Entertainment Expo during the 2nd? week of the month
