Sound

Post by Tinkin Tankem »

I'm having a problem with my volume, and or sound. Sometimes if my computer goes into sleep mode for a while it won't give me any sound when I wake it up. If I restart it I'm fine or if it never goes into sleep mode or log off of an account. I'm using SB Live for my sound card. Any thoughts on what may be my issue? I really don't know shit about computers, the most I've done is to install an ethernet device. So if you have advice/instruction... go easy on me I just play EQ. Thanks in advance.

see if there is a driver update available for your card at the manufacturer's web site.

JK Tinkin, I have nothing useful to add to help your issue. Do you have an older motherboard or sound card?

I got my whole system like 3 years ago, all brand new. A lot of the time I click on the volume control since it shows that it is muted but still nothing. I'll try finding an update and maybe there is just something that got lost that it will repair.

I'd take Tenuvil's suggestion and either check Windows Update Website for new drivers or go to the product website if it was bought as a prebuilt system and there should be a support page with links to the latest drivers.

hibernation, sleep, whatever they call it these days... sucks...

i disable hibernation and set the power settings to the 'always on' set, allowing only the monitor to be disabled after 20 minutes inactivity.

don't let me catch you sleeping, little hard drive.
