Mafia Round 4 - Night 3...OVER

Post by Lohrno »

Okay, I think the other game is going to go on for a while so I have decided we can probably squeeze in another Mafia game. :)

Say "I'm in" to sign up here. Also it would be helpful if you tell me if you want to play by Avestan's rules - another popular variant.

Basic Rules:

There are 3 types of people - Detectives, Mafia, and Citizens.
All 3 can vote during trials that occur during the day.

Detective(s) - Your job is to put people on trial during the day. PM me and that person goes up for trial. Try not to put citizens in jail because it will reduce your chances of living.

Mafia - Your main job is to kill everyone else. The fastest way is to kill the detective(s) If you are mafia you will be in a pair(s). Confer with your partner as two heads figuring out who the detective is are better than one. Kills should be sent to me via PM.

Citizens - You are the lifeblood of the game. Without you the game would be very short indeed. 8) You can vote at trials. Also there's nothing stopping you from doing detective work that would be too risky for them.

Each day will be in 2 parts the day will bring trials, and people will vote for those on trial, innocent or guilty. During the night, the mafia will kill people by PMing me their choice.

Avestan's variant.

Avestan wrote:I have not played with you guys, but the way this game is normally played, there is no innocent or guilty wote. The discussion happens before the detectives name the people to go on trial. The detectives will try to form the discussion without making it obvious that they are the detectives and the mafia will try to deflect public opinion without making it obvious that they are mafia. Sometimes people will try to put detectives up for trial and they will sometimes have to say "don't do it, I am a detective". This, of course, could be a lie, but if it is not, at least it gives you that round with a detective.

Also. The order we always played was this.

1. Mafia kills

2. Detective/s can "point" to one person and ask the moderator if that person is mafia without anyone else knowing who he/she is pointing to.

3. Moderator gives yes/no answer

4. Discussion ensues. If the detective/s know a mafia member, they try to shape the discussion towards them without making it obvious to other mafia that they know something.

5. "The people" put someone on trial and execute them (no discussion here)

6. Daily Summary (who did we kill)

7. Return to 1.

This format might work a lot better.

ps. We always played with an even number of detectives and mafia.
This game would also be played with the concept of "Doctors" these are people that get to go to one person's house during the night to save them from wounds inflicted by the mafia. They have to choose someone and if they are right and that person is executed, they save them from death.

(end Avestan's rules)

Note: I'll put up 300 VVs towards a pot if any of you would like to donate that's okay but not required....

Pot status: 3300 vvs.

I prefer simple over complex...that being said I would prefer the original ruleset but would be interested in seeing how a game played by Avestan's rules would play out.

I'm in...I know I said I wouldn't be...but I just can't let go!!!! You people are way too addictive. That being said. The original ruleset is fine. There was never anything wrong with the way the rules were, it was just that everyone votes guilty all the time. But it's just a game and I'm in to have fun, please don't make me mafia this time again!

I am in. I would vote for Avestan's rules, they are more fun and allow for everyone to get involved. Citizens are required to bring people to trial, so grudges can be brought out and a lot more thinking goes into voting guilty: did a citizen want to bring someone to trial because that citizen thought that person was guilty, or is it because that citizen is actually a mafia member? It adds a whole new perspective that makes the game that much more fun. Either way, though, I'll play, but I think we should give Avestan's ruleset a try, it's very fun.

Tenuvil gets rocked!

Tenuvil was sleeping in from last night's Black Label Society concert and the party afterward that ran until 11am today. He didn't dream much as the alchohol and moshing and headbanging completely and totally exhaused him.

Groggily he opened his eyes. What he first saw confused him. A very large speaker was sitting in front of his face. He opened his eyes and made an effort to close his drooling mouth. As far as he could tell, he was in front of a large array of concert speakers from the floor to the ceiling. He slowly sat up and looked around the room.

"Mmmmph veeeery funny..."

His bed was surrounded by large concert speakers. In fact they surrounded his bed on all sides, and were stacked from floor to ceiling. . Wires went here and there in the tiny spaces between them. He stood up and tried to move the set that was on the left of his bed. They were far too large to even budge. It was then that it began - The first notes of Metallica's Master of Puppets.

Tenuvil only heard the first couple notes before his ear drums imploded. He heard a long loud ringing sound, and felt an intense pain. Fortunately, it wasn't for long. The bones in his skull began to disintegrate, and his organs jellied soon after that, leaving him in a broken wreck with blood comming out of his eyes, nose and mouth on his bed.

The police obviously responded to the noise and destruction of property complaint as neighbor's houses windows broke, and people who lived blocks away couldn't hear their own conversations for a few minutes.

RIP Tenuvil the Mafia

Moozilla gets Tramplezilla'd.

Moozilla was at the stockyard counting his cows this morning. Something didn't seem quite right, but he thught it was just one of the many cycles that affects these beasts' moods.

"1023, 1024, 1025..." he counted.

Suddenly he was knocked on his ass. The last thing he would ever see would be the hoof of one of the cows coming down in his face hitting him smack in the middle of his forehead.

Had no one intervened, the police would have found his mangled corpse in the pen, tampled by hundreds of cows. However no trace was ever found of him. The feeding troughs were a different texture this day...

Image

RIP Citizen Moozilla.

For many this day brings a sigh of relief. You are down one mafia, and one citizen. There are 2 detectives. Detectives, please choose wisely. Trial will begin at roughly 11am PST.

Fash is guilty!
Avestan is not guilt!

Reasons being... none, but Fash was an evil mastermind in the survivor game, and therefore he must be guilty. That, and he has no defense and I'm leaving for the night.

Apologize for the early vote, but I'm going out.

I just got a PM from Lohrno that let me know I was on trial... if that tells you anything about how much attention i've paid to the vault lately... I did get online to check hp survivor a few times, but i started a new job this week and can't screw around..... yet.

I am innocent !! I played no part in these killings !

and the roles i played in previous games has nothing to do with this... ive never been mafia, and i'm not mafia this time either.

it is in your hands now.
