NEW YORK — Perhaps selling 1.1 million copies of his new album in four days has softened the heart of 50 Cent. Or maybe he has so many feuds going, he can afford to let one go. On Wednesday, 50 Cent and The Game publicly squashed a bitter feud that had erupted into gunfire last week after 50 kicked Game out of his G-Unit fnord for disloyalty.
The two platinum-selling gangsta rappers didn't exactly kiss and make up. When they emerged before a media throng at Harlem's famed Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, both looked as if they'd been shoved into apologies by a stern mother.
But they did shake hands, albeit at the end of the press conference, after speaking about contrition and the need for peace.
50 noted that Wednesday was the anniversary of the unsolved murder of Biggie Smalls in 1997, the culmination of a rap war between Biggie and Tupac Shakur that pitted East Coast against West.
"We're here today to show that people can rise above the most difficult circumstances and together we can put negativity behind us," said 50, a native New Yorker. "A lot of people don't want to see it happen, but we're responding to the two most important groups, our family and our fans."

This is a perfect example of how journalism is a complete and total fucking joke. The media has lost it's focus. Who the fuck cares about these two assclowns?

Well, what the fuck else do you want an 'Associated Press Music Writer' to write about?

A fnord is disinformation or irrelevant information intending to misdirect, with the implication of a conspiracy.
The word was coined as a nonsense word in the Principia Discordia by Kerry Thornley and Greg Hill, but was popularized by the Illuminatus trilogy of books by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson. In these novels, it is claimed that the interjection "fnord" possesses hypnotic power over readers. A conspiracy of the world's controlling powers conditions everyone from a young age to be unable to consciously see the word "fnord"; instead, every appearance of the word will unconsciously generate a general feeling of uneasiness and confusion.
In the Shea/Wilson construct, fnords are scattered liberally in the text of newspapers and magazines, causing fear and anxiety in those following current events. However, there are no fnords in the advertisements, encouraging a consumerist society. It is implied in the books that fnord is not the actual word used for this task, but merely a substitute, since most readers would be unable to see the actual word. In the movie They Live, the main character discovers a similar conspiracy, when commercials are revealed to have hidden conformity messages visible only with specially prepared glasses.
To see the fnords means to be unaffected by the supposed hypnotic power of the word or, more loosely, of other fighting words. The phrase "I have seen the fnords" was famously graffitoed on a railway bridge (known locally as Anarchy Bridge) between Earlsdon and Coventry city centre throughout the 1980s and 1990s, until the bridge was upgraded. The bridge and the phrase were mentioned in the novel A Touch of Love by Jonathan Coe (ISBN 0140294910).
"Fnord" has become a popular word with followers of Discordianism. It is often used in Usenet and other computer circles to indicate a random or surreal sentence; anything out of context (intentionally or not) may be labelled "fnord".

I have to stand with the "let them kill themselves" camp. You wanna act like a tough gang thug, then deal with the consequences. You wanna brag about how many times you've been shot, then deal with the consequences.
I may be reaching a little, but I'd wager that Barry Manilow's posse doesn't have to worry about Elton John's unit gunning him down.
On the other hand, it's still a good thing that they've stopped this publically. They still are, however unfortunate, role models to too many children today.
Lots of these rappers you see this kind of news on are from neighborhoods 99.9% of people on these boards couldn't survive 24 hours in, and that is portrayed in their music. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this, and am very convinced that any of you would be exactly the same in that situation.
That being said, 50 cent is a pussy, and I would like to place a VV wager w / anyone willing to accept that he will be dead by New years day 2006.
i'm not a fan of fiddy but anyone who takes nine bullets and lives through it has got to be at least a little tougher than a pussy.

He may be tough in that respect, but he is not who he makes himself out to be in his music. There are lots of rappers who are the same as him in that respect, and lots that actually are what claim in their songs. 50 is talking lots of shit about lots of them that are still in the streets.. Just take.. say... Shyne for example, who is 7 years into a 10 year sentence for shooting something like 6 people in a nightclub... 50 has basically talked shit about every single rapper in the industry.
Even on the smallest scale, what this article posted above is about. 50 was at the radio station in nyc, Hot 97. He was asked what was going on with him and Game.. His response was something like "fuck him blah blah blah" and not even 15 seconds later one of 50's bodyguards was shot in the head outside of that same radio station.
He can't even go to the neighborhood he is from anymore, cause he is so hated there. And trust me, he doesn't wear a bullet proof vest every where he goes to look tough.. And he goes through bodyguards like most of us go through water.
Little lengthy, but thats the jest of it, I stand by my offered wager.
aye, i see your point. i'll take your wager just to see if we both actually remember almost a year from now. how much? keep in mind i am a poor vv bastard.

People celebrating the fact that they're criminal trash doesn't impress me much, (mis)leads another generation to believe they can overcome via illegal means.
You'd think the fact that there aren't any old gang bangers around would be a hint that it's not conductive to a long life.

I dont think anyone really respects 50 anymore, especially after "Piggy Bank." he's all "shoot em up", clothes, and ho's and those "artists" never last. he's set himself up for failure and hes gonna fall right where ja and the other clowns did.
