Man, you're such a retard. First off, *this just in*, I'm not a liberal nor do political beliefs have anything to do with Atokal breaking the set forum rules time and time again, being warned about it, and then action being taken. Second, it's not censorship. I didn't silence anything that he did, I punished him for violating a law. That's actually kind of a conservative thing to do! (The liberal thing to do was to keep telling him not to do it and then not doing anything about it) Third, it's just as easy for me to type "cartalas" and then hit the 'ban assbag' button as it was Atokal. i may have called called fat but i was arguing a different point at least. to be honest it was a losing point. i said something stupid and got called on it.

I am not generally in favour of banning/suspending people but frankly Toker if you go about bringing up real life insults about weight and endlessly bringing it up like a fucking four year old what did you expect?

I have to give sylvus some credit for knowing what he's doing.

The ban nazis on VV IRC were going fucking nuts several months back, booting me and trying to whine their way to a Winnow ban while I was having a normal conversation with someone about comics or something else that wouldn't offend even the most liberal of pussies, but sylvus just kept de-op'ing them and letting me back in. It was a most impressive display of not giving in to a few deluded people even if he liked them otherwise. If ops gave in to touchy feely sensitive people that easy just because someone has the ability to get under their skin, this board wouldn't exist. The meltdowns are fun to observe though.

...so all of you ban happy people shouldn't get your hopes up!

First off, I don't want anyone to think I approve of Atokal going around calling Dregor fat in several threads (I think it was in bad taste personally), but calling someone fat is hardly the worst insult to happen on this board.

I remember Xou saying in the old RL picture post thread saying this...:

If you're talking about Atokal coming out of the blue in threads and posting about how Dregor is fat, just do a search for threads where Atokal hasn't even posted, or where he has in a reasonable manner, and is called, directly or indirectly, a pedo (including by Dregor). I just did a search, it's not hard. So if we're talking about the fact that he posts these insults without provocation in the specific threads, he's not the only one.

Many people on this board could be a lot more civil (note: I'm not saying PG, I'm just saying there are certain lines you shouldn't cross), but let's get real. Atokal wasn't responding to intelligent, reasoned posts when he called Dregor fat- he was responding to other innane insults. I don't really see how you could say some things in RL are off limits, while others aren't (especially since in this case it's obvious Atokal gets a lot more offended by the pedo comments than Dregor does from the fat jokes).

I realize this all boils down to the fact that he repeatedly broke the rules and didn't even stop once warned (I assume he got PMed), but just look at the circumstances.

Some people on this board think throwing around pedo accusations is funny. I got hit with the same thing. It seems when there's nothing real to flame about and a weak mind is being worked over, they break out the pedophile flames as a last resort.

I fail to see the relation accusing someone of a serious crime and being accused of being a physical blob. They seem to confuse made up criminal offenses with attacks on physical appearance. It's a tough call. At the end of the day, when it's time to punch out from a long day of flaming, the pedos don't stay pedos IRL but the fat flamer is still fat.

I'd say getting back to the policy of not making fun of RL appearance is a good idea as one idiot fat fuck is ruining it for the majority of cool porky people out there that aren't insecure about themselves. So you feel that when you get pulled over by a cop for speeding you should get a warning instead of a ticket because the cop didn't drive up to your window and warn you to slow down before pulling you over. Right. Perfect logic. It's not permanent, and it's not like Atokal doesn't disappear for a few weeks at a time normally anyway. I wouldn't sweat it, then again the board DID need some drama. So perhaps this is an ingeniously engineered scheme to draw out the fox! GENIUS!
