Probably the same kind of person I ran into last night.

I am walking on the sidewalk, start crossing a street and a car comes up, doesn't even stop at the stop sign, and actually bumps into me while I am crossing the street.

I slapped my hand on their hood and yelled at them to watch where they were going and the person looked at me like I was crazy.

No insurance for them and now if you report it, there's a chance your insurance goes up. Gotta love insurance.

I probably wont cover it by insurance, I got a perfect driving record so I expect the hit to be nasty if I do. Have to wait and see tomorrow when I take a closer look at it just how extensive the damages are, I have a feeling it busted up a tie rod in addition to the visual damages I could see.

I think it might have been a young kid and his gf in a beat up old POS car. They were next to me when I pulled into the parking spot facing the opposite direction and the damage is typical of backing up and turning too early.

Asshole.

Only if you have full insurance. I know this one guy torched his Geo Tracker back in '96 so he bought an Altima. Too bad it got repo'd 18 months later :o

It should not go up if it's not-at-fault which is what a hit and run would be. The only time you might see it go up is if you have multiple not at faults since you're basically starting to look like an accident magnet.

You should definitely file a claim if the damage is severe, and a police report as well.

In March of last year some guy pulled out in front of me then got into the far lane..then pulled back into my lane in an attempt to do a u-turn maneuver. I tried to miss him...but my only alternative was to pull into oncoming traffic.

After we came to a stop with my front end embedded into his passenger side doors...we both got out of the car. There were several witnesses that had stopped as well.

The first thing I did was ask if everyone was ok. This punk then starts saying "motherfucking pussy just hit me! Motherfucking pussy just hit me?" I tried to calm him down and ask him if he was ok. He stood on the other side of his car and I stood on the opposite side. It turns out he was pulling out of a side street adjacent to the apartment complex he lived in...hence his u-turn thing right in front of me. So his girlfriend and neighbors were all out there with him.

He then started calling me "Bitch!" "Bitch!"...and I told him to calm down. He then said, "Give your motherfucking insurance, bitch". Well, that's when I kinda lost it and said, "Give me YOUR motherfucking insurance....bitch".

After a minor scuffle, one of the witnesses told me the police were on their way. And after filling out accident reports and talking with the police, this guy was arrested on felon warrants from Texas. He had no insurance...this wasn't even his car...it was his girlfriend's mother's car...and she had no insurance.

I had to pay the $500 deductible. My insurance went up and this was my first accident...and I have no traffic violations/tickets. The insurance company claimed they would go after him to try and recoup the money for me...but they said they could never get anything from him.

To top it all off, a few months later I saw this jerk getting into a different car at the same apartment complex.

Fender doesn't seem that beat up, I might be able to pop it and if not I will replace it with an used one.. needed a paint job anyway so color wont matter. Althouh it is tempting to go with a widebody fender set..

Well so much for popping the dent, the fender has buckled on top as well. Damn lucky it didn't buckle the hood. One new fender coming up! Also got a weird clicking noise in what I believe is the brakes now.. time to take it all apart! Weeeh!

So.. should I use this as an excuse to put widebody fenders on it? :) And no it's not a ricer you sick fucks!

Didn't someone post a pic of a plywood and 2x4 rear wing some time ago? That was Type-R all the way!

Drop dead :) It's a Stealth and I have no plans of making it look ricy. No huge plexiglass wing or anything like that. In fact right now it is wingless and it looks pretty sleak.

If anybody know much about the Stealth I plan to put the '96 wing on it (no it isn't big or ricy), possibly Cianci wide-body fenders (no still not ricy), a RIPP supercharger (I have the SOHC version so limited what engine modifications can be done) and some other minor stuff. Or I might keep it stock and buy the Stealth RT TT I've been looking at.. or a 300ZX TT!

Yeah my original plan was to pick up a 300ZX but am fairly hooked on the Stealth now.. will be one or the other for sure later in the year. Will keep the Stealth I have now as a daily driver no matter what. I've been a huge fan of the 300ZX, the RX7 and the Stealth for as long as I can remember pretty much.

I have an Altima.

It's not ricey. However it does have: altezzas, led taillamps and high brake lamps, hyper white headlamps, clear corners with chrome/white bulbs, a strut brace, a cold air intake and no wing (though I'm looking into an OEM spoiler). Oh it also has a roof rack for bikes.

Should I get a GTR badge for it? Or maybe Skyline R33 badging? :D

i'm looking at getting an altima se as soon as i pay off my pos within the next several months. rice rockets are played out. i'd rather spend my money on a nice looking car that has enough oomph and plenty of sweet features.

skyline's are hawt btw. nissan has to be my fav make. they produce great quality with style. they are a little bit more expensive but no so much that they aren't able to compete with the pieces of shit american companies are producing in the same price range.

I've always liked the look of the Eclipses over the years although I've never driven one and know nothing of their reliabilty and performance.

Eclipses of the early 90s were awesome. Then they went and got all fat and slow.

I'm looking at a Nissan Murano or simila "sedan SUV" as my next car.

Friend has a G35 Coupe, nice car with a good combination of luxury and speed. The new Eclipses are an improvement but they are still a bit lacking.. and that is a lot of power to run through your front wheels. That is why the Stealth I'm looking at is an AWD :)

Muranos are very nice for a SUV. Only SUV I think I'd ever consider owning. I'm too much of a sports car person though..

The Murano is in the running for my wife's next car. She's not sure if she wants to plunge into the next price bracket which would toss in the FX35/45, Cayenne, and V8 Touareg.

I agreed to take her 2001 Civic and sell mine off. What a husband I am :vv_bonk:

what kind of collision deductable do you carry?

you are going to have to pay out of pocket up to that, but if they try to raise your rates for a non-fault accident (you do have a police report dont you?), then you have the leverage on them to shop for new insurance.

I just got hit by another guy in December (mack truck hit my toyota!!). His bullshit insurance company didnt want to pay for towing my car to the shop. They didnt want to pay for 2 other things either.

So i said fuck you, i'm not signing the release, and i filed the insurance claim with my insurer (GEICO). GEICO alreayd assured me they would pay me for everything, regardless of what they get from the other company which i suspect will be everything.

The reason they do this is simple: it is worth it for them to stick their neck out to keep a good customer.

It's also what any insurance company is there for. The only thing that "could" go wrong is that they pay out of your collision coverage. It's only a minor thing, but it can come back to haunt you in a way if you get insurance elsewhere since the insurance companies report claims to one database. Your new company will pull information off of that database, and if it shows that it was paid under your collision coverage it will generally pop up as not at fault. This can be corrected with proof such as the police report or a letter from your prior carrier.
