IMO, best youth-sports movie ever.

What originally grabbed me with this one, is that the message didnt so much glorify the game as it questions everyone's values. Its not the typical "its all about winning, goddammit!" sports-flick, but I dont think sports fan will be disappointed either. Theres plenty of eye-catching "ballin" scenes too. The acting, overall, is pretty well done - but Ashanti's NY accent drove me crazy (consdering this takes place in CA).

So if youre into sports, Sam Jackson, "inspiring" true stories, or if you just dont want to see Elektra, Id highly recommend it. But dont let the MTV logo fool you, the language is not child-friendly.

9/10

I just got back from seeing this.
I thought as stated above that it was a good break from the normal sports movies that are just about winning. Samuel L. Jackson was great as usual, I also thought the rest of the acting was good too. I was not so suprised to see ashanti not be able to get rid of her New York accent- its pretty hard to hide when you have a strong accent like she does.

Anyhow, was a good message in the film, a good storyline, Plenty of action and entertainment value, and good acting. Is a bit longer than I expected, about 2 and a half hours long, but I did not get bored at any point.
